People who start a sentence with "Yeah, so..."
Is anyone else sick of people starting a sentence, answering a question, or beginning a story with "Yeah, so..."? It seems to have spread like a virus in recent months.

Every time I hear it I feel the need to buy more ammo.

EDIT: I changed the subject line. Sorry about that.

If you put the title in quotation marks, it might seem less click-baity.

My LE career was in a 99% Hispanic area, and the almost always would start off answering my question of “what happened?” with “It’s ‘cuz.” Of course, “It’s’cuz” translates to “It is because.” I never understood that. I have no idea just how widespread that was/is.

Yeah, so... there was a thread here about proper thread titles.

I don't think I've ever encountered a situation where someone started a discussion or conversation like that. If I had, it certainly isn't something that I'm encountering now to a degree or frequency that I would even notice.

Oh yeah, and your thread title sucks. ETA: Much better

“buttons on your underwear.” as my grandmother used to say.

Me: “So…”
Grandma:”buttons on your underwear.”

Yeah so, I’m thinking this is not a new thing if it annoyed my grandmother for as long as I can remember.

I don't believe I've heard that said much...if at all. Must be a local thing.

This. I listen to a lot of podcasts and it's constant there as well.

Chemical dependancy in this country has done away with presentation.

In the early 60's it was taught that how one spoke appeared, addressed others and some degree of deportment was important in social settings.

I haven't noticed 'Yeah, so' as much as people starting a line of speech with 'So...'. I even caught myself doing it and had to make a conscious effort to stop.

I don't hear that around here. What I do hear is the work 'like' used 45 times in a sentence.

Bugs me just as much as "y'all" used when talking to a single person, and "like" used every other sentence. And then you have "I know, right?" when "yes" is all you need to say.

"Yeah, so y'all need to, like, get with the program."

"I know, right??"
