2017 really does seem to have achieved a new level of widely disbursed idiocy. I would have to say this has made me a believer in anthropogenic climate change, that is the cultural and intellectual climate is clearly deteriorating around the world, and it is caused by humans, or at least those claiming to be human.

Yeah, I think that's a bad idea. It's a bad idea for ME, at least. My position at work yields me no particular power, aside from the power to do a good job, receive a paycheck, and pay my own bills. Stepping down or resigning is very certainly a bad idea for me, and it has nothing to do with any "-ism" or phobia beyond my fear of my own economic failure -- a failure I don't intend to see take place.
