I do very much like the taste of many dishes. My hesitation is perceptions of hygiene and sanitary conditions. I envision shows like Kitchen Nightmares. Not just Indian restaurants, but also Chinese, Korean, Italian and American restaurants. It's just easier to hide some of the bad stuff in heavily spiced sauces.

Places where I'm comfortable get enthusiastic patronage.

So it's safe for some people?

(Reminder: this is NOT a political thread, so please do not post any political responses.)
It's safe if you are immune to the biologicals that contaminate the water in India, similar to Mexico. If you are not you have to be relentless about what you consume.
I was implying that those without brains will not shit their brains out. Maybe a bit too subtle?

I can’t stand it. I want to like it. I have many Indian friends. They always make food and want me to try. It all tastes exactly the same to. Too much cumin and coriander. No matter what family uses there own masala spice mix it still taste the same. I can’t figure out what it is I hate so much. I love spicy food. I love Mexican. I love bold flavors. But Indian is a major turn off.

These go to eleven.

The curry, perhaps? I've found that you either like it or you don't, and anything with curry in it (pretty much most Indian recipes) is awful. I'm the same way with soy sauce. Anything with it as an ingredient gets tossed in the trash. Can't stomach the stuff.

Butter Chicken is my favorite and what I make at home. I have made the long Gordon Ramsey recipe, but now I have an Instapot recipe that is super easy and just as good!

Yes, they are. However, an Indian coworker who grew up in India and I both got sick after eating at an Indian buffet place near the office a few years ago. Could not drive home for a while...

For some immigrant restaurant owners, they bring their sanitary (or lack of) practices with them from the homeland.

And remember you only need to pass the health department kitchen inspection once a year.

And as always, Americanized "foreign" food is often quite different than what you really find in the respective country.

Oh. I thought this would be about American Indians, with the Feather, not the Indians with the forehead dot.

Living here in Indian Territory USA, I love real Fry Bread and Indian Tacos, and anything with Hominy Squash and Beans.

You just like the SE Asian ladies that work in the restaurants...

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I'm askeered to try anything other than Chicken Tikka Masala. If that counts as liking Indian food, then yes.

Never tasted any Indian food but some years ago did build out the inside interior of a local Indian resturant...Planed on going back after opening for service but never did...... There are a lot of resturants that claim the food to be authenic to the home country when in reality they have been "Americanized" ..................................... drill sgt.

Nice. Does she not like the naan bread or the Lassi yogurt drink?

I like going to clean buffet style Indian restaurants. It's the only buffet I go to. I like the Indian buffet because I don't know the names anyway. I look at the stuff and if it looks good, I'll try it. If I like it, I go back for more.

Other than goat or chicken dishes, everything else is vegetables. I definitely like fresh hot bread.

I also like the desert where it's like a soupy coconut milk.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual."
