The internet says the company was sold in 2011 and their products are now made in China. The company’s website says engineered in Ohio, but nothing about made in America.

Here’s a 2024 review of a $5,000 pair of SVS speakers in Stereophile:
SVS Ultra Evolution Pinnacle loudspeaker

Excerpts:

“SVS stands for Stimpson Vodhanel Sound, after the company's founders, Ron Stimpson and Tom Vodhanel; Tom, the chief designer, left the company in 2007; Ron, the CEO, sold the company in 2011.”

“The drivers are designed by SVS. Everything is manufactured, and the loudspeakers are assembled, in China.”

It really doesn’t matter. I’m sure they sell a fine product. My subs are old M&K MX125s.

Very nearly bought a pair of UEP’s last weekend. I heard them at an audio show in Florida last year and was very, very impressed. Great rock and roll speakers, and nobody makes speakers for rock n roll at that price point.

Count me as an SVS fan, maybe a bit out of your price range. Yes, at least partly made in China, but a great company local to Ohio and Pennsylvania. They have a great trial policy.

He may not like it--probably doesn't; I don't--but he knows it's so, and knowing is the first step in coping with it."

I'm actually a fan. I own three SB16 Ultra's. The CEO of SVS is my old boss, the Director of Customer Service was my peer when we all worked together in Wash DC 25yrs ago.

Just snapped this pic while reading the updated posts here.

Which SVS? I'm close to the cape lol

Also since we're also in Sigforum budget crushing territory, check out JTR speakers and subwoofers.

Absolutely end game for home theater/music.

In my home theater my Velodyne 18" sub handles the LFE channel.
