We’re getting one in Goodyear, AZ in the near future (~June 2026). We stopped at the one in Amarillo recently (our first time) and we were thoroughly impressed. The brisket sandwich was really quite good, and the Beaver Nuggets are like crack. So good! I can hardly wait for the one in Goodyear to open now.

Nothing like a good gas station sandwich! But they don’t carry the usual Pepsi or Coke brands of sodas.
Also with any busy location comes the opportunists. I watched a white van circle and circle the pumps looking for an easy mark, they really wanted to hit an RV while the elderly couple were cleaning the windows on the other side of the vehicle. Keep your eyes open and doors locked!!

Our closest one is down near Springfield. We've been there once. It was packed but we did find a spot at a pump. They are clean with easy access but full of things that you probably don't need. I wouldn't go out of my way to stop at another.

Interesting. Is this a regional thing? The two in Georgia and one in Kentucky most definitely carry Coca-Cola products in the soda machines and coolers. No Pepsi products which means no Diet Mountain Dew for me.

I've recommended to the Beaver City Council that they follow Chicago's lead and have an annual "Taste of Beaver" food festival.
Buckee's could definitely participate.

There is a Buc'ees being built in Kansas City. Clean bathrooms and no methhead working the register is nice, guess it's the Chik Fil A of gas stations.

I have never even seen one, don't think we have any in my state.

Buc-ee is anticipating your visit.

I took this photo at the one in South Georgia on my way to Orlando. They HAD to know what they were doing with the position of Buc.

Here in Northern Virginia we have pretty much had to put up with 7-11's and High's for many many years. Now we have a few Wawa's, hopefully Buc-ee's will soon follow.

What's that old saying? You can never have too much beaver!

Have them locally, everything is overpriced (has to be to pay the overhead) but the stores are clean, the parking lot is clean, the gas pumps are clean and the bathrooms are clean. Their brisket breakfast taco’s are good too, probably the best thing I have had there.

Each to his own. The locals are so excited. I am not a snob but it is not my thing. The local TV station had several stories before they opened.
I prefer fine dining which is avaiable here thanks to the support of the casino industry.

It may be regional. The last time I was Springfield Mo. location, none of the good stuff.

You cannot sell Pepsi and Coke both. It is in their contract

They have a small selection of soda in their coolers. They have a much larger section of alcoholic drinks. They used to sell the Dr. Pepper made with real sugar and on occasion I would get one. I have not seen that in a while. Their chip isle has more of their brands than other stuff. One of their stores happens to be on my way to where I hunt so during hunting season I frequent that place. I also like the no ethanol gasoline.

^^ THIS ^^

Agree that breakfast tacos are their best food.

I have access to a top 10 and two Top 50 BBQ joints in all of Texas within 15 minutes of my house so Buc-ees' famous brisket sandwich doesn't do much for me.

They're building one about 8 miles from me. I've only been inside the one in Alabama close to the Florida state line, and the food they prepare looked and smelled awesome but when I was fixing to be driving for 8 hours I did NOT try anything.
I'm looking forward to trying their brisket sandwiches, not expecting to get blown away by any means though. I spent 6 years in Texas and had some great brisket down there that I have never seen matched here in TN. And also, we have friends that compete in BBQ and won major championships for smoked pork. That is the one good thing about living near Memphis, even an average bbq place around Memphis is better than some of the best bbq you'll find in many cities.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…

You can’t run Buc-ee’s up here (NoVA, MD, etc.) without staffing it with local “talent”, which means it will NOT be Buc-ee’s and will only tarnish the brand.

As much as I love me some Beaver Nuggets and brisket, I do NOT want to see a Buc-ee’s anywhere near the DC Metro area or further into the Northeast Megalopolis. It would be sad.

Excerpt from Buc-ee's dress code:

quote:
What is the dress code?

[...]

Store employees are not allowed to wear:

visible tattoos
body piercing
tongue posts
unnatural colored hair
open toe shoes
torn or faded clothing

That would let a lot of people out.
