The reason there are so many options out there is that there are lots of folks willing to pay exorbitant fees for *advice* and financial products from slick salesmen, er, “investment professionals”.

Skip the “experts” (many of whom have nothing more than sales training) and go with a low fee index fund from Vanguard, Fidelity or Scwab.
