Nice fish!

As a bank fisherman I'll never catch a fish anywhere near that size. Frown

You would have a better chance at keeping one than we did out in the sound this year. The number of wild coho and kings my father and I had to let go ticks me off.

I’d figure everyone at church, the bank or the post office would want to see that big thing. It would go everywhere I went for about a week. Smile

Well this is a first. A fish story backed up with an actual photogragh. This is not the way fish stories usually work.

Its fall chinook season here in the PNW and my local tributary's are producing some decent fish.

This fish I caught is 42 long x 27.5 girth and weighed 41 lbs. way above average which is 15 to 25 lb class and 28 to 36 in length. this fish took about 25 minutes to land and after several attempts I finally had it at my feet. Without having a net landing a fish of this size is pretty tough so I did the only thing I knew how, I dropped my rod in the water and dove on it. Wink

This really is a fish of a lifetime and my personal best.

Congrats on your catch!

I'm guessing there is a trip to a taxidermy shop in the near future?

If not, there should be.
Congrats! Cool

Impressive.
I imagine alder smoked filets would be outstanding.

Thanks for the reply's , I'm not taking it to the taxidermist just going to eat it and share it with family friends. I did pick up two more today they were both 39 inches long but nowhere near the girth of the first one. still a lot of fun to catch.

Wow. Congratulations!

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual."
