Made a bunch of roux, sauteed with holy trinity (onion, pepper, celery) and garlic, added six cups of stock, a boned chicken, big link of cut-up sausage and package of cut frozen okra with some Tony Chacheres. Cost next to nothing and lots left to freeze, aside from all the leftover chicken, stock and sausage already frozen.

Sounds delicious and can’t pass up a whole cooked chicken for $1.99!

OMG Big Grin

Rice and beans is a critical staple around here… Time to go soak some beans. Damn that looks good.

Chicken thighs on the Weber kettle.
Traeger chicken rub at about 600° until 175 internal. Turned out great.

Very nice. I have a scratch orange chicken recipe I have been waiting to try to make but just haven’t done it yet. That looks good! Do you happen to have a link to recipe of what you made?

Tonight a quick stir fried veggie dish (red pepper, hot pepper, zucchini, cabbage, onion) with ginger and garlic, with baked tofu that was marinaded in green pepper, soy, and black bean and garlic sauces, over brown rice. Quite spicy just like I like it.

No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

It’s just upside down, deconstructed stew and mashed potatoes! A perfect vessel for hot sauce.

Having GSD’s, the threat of shepherd pie is a frequent one around here. Lol. Wink
