This pic doesn’t look as good as it was since it looks like the brussel sprouts were burned, but they weren’t. I made pan seared salmon and cooked the brussel sprouts in the air fryer. I added some of the leftover linguine as a side from my previous post but there was no shrimp left in it. NRA Benefactor Life Member

The physician staff meeting was last night, and they ate good! I brought home about a third of a tenderloin, about 4 dozen shrimp, some fruit and cheese from one of them charcuterie trays, cheesecake, and some Topo Chico. I was eyeing a bottle of Jack Single Barrel but remember I don't drink. Anyway, some shrimp with new potatoes and onions made it on the menu tonight! ___________________________ He looked like an accountant or a serial-killer type. No pics, but it was pork tenderloin with my favorite rib rub on it. I also picked a Zucchini out of my garden, sliced into discs, coated in oil & Parmesan, and oven roasted with tenderloin. Today I got a vegetable steamer rack (9") and thought I'd try in a frying pan for seafood. I split a small lobster tail and sectioned 3 King crab legs. My normal spice layering on the lobster tail including the butter. The edges of the rack held them up nicely level. All of it steamed for 8 minutes. I have to say I was surprised at how good it came out. The tails were... perfect. The crab, also perfect. I think I like this better than baked for lobster tails. Fried pork chop Cooked to 155°F (can't do mid rare on pork), was succulent, juicy, tender, and melted in your mouth. It's been a decade or since I fried a pork chop, I don't know why.... Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

Making cabbage soup with sausage. I'll post more when it's done. ArtieS Cabbage Soup Recipe Ingredients: Half head cabbage 2 to 2 ½ lbs. kielbasa, smoked sausage, or etc., cut I half moon slices. Two sweet onions Half pound baby carrots Big squeeze prepared minced ginger Big squeeze prepared minced garlic 1 quart beef broth. Chicken broth is acceptable, but less rich. Worcestershire Sauce Tabasco level heat hot sauce Bay leaf Salt and pepper to taste Prep: Rough chop all vegetables. Add all ingredients to crock pot or tall stock pot. Simmer until carrots are tender. Serve as is, or with a garnish of chopped chicken, ham, sausage, or beef, with a sprinkling of parmesan cheese. As always, this is better the next day. Pre-fry the sausage to brown it for flavor, and to sweat out a high percentage of the fat that you don’t need for the soup. This message has been edited. Made a different recipe version of Artie's cabbage soup today and it was fantastic. This one's a keeper. I'm very happy that soup season is here. ________________________________________________________ "Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil." Doug Patton.

I absolutely love making soup! I also love cabbage in my soup. Hopefully it will soon start to cool off here to start enjoying a hot soup on a cold day. We are still in the 80’s!!! NRA Benefactor Life Member

Thanks for that cabbage & sausage recipe, Artie. I do a lot of cooking for my mom and she used to be on Warfarin for a blood thinner for years. That meant moderate amounts of vitamin K consistently in her daily diet, focusing on regularity. She's recently had some strokes and is on a new blood thinner that has opened up some new culinary possibilities like cabbage soup. No need to track vit. K. I've been making up for lost time w/ cabbage recipes and roasted brussel sprouts among other higher vit. K foods. Bonus points for Kielbasa/other sausage. ETA: For the sake of "What's for dinner?" I did two 14" scratch pizzas for my a couple of my friends.

I neglected to take pics, but today brought the smoking of a half a ham. Set the electric smoker to 230 degrees, covered the ham with a paste of yellow mustard and some Dizzy Dust seasoning, tossed in a mix of apple and cherry wood chips, and let it do its thing for about 3-1/2 hours. "Oinkapalooza" was on, but Xantom's pancakes look pretty darned good! God bless America.

Buffalo shrimp. I cheated and used Frank's Buffalo sauce, not my homemade. I got the Frank's for free, and it's not all that bad ( not as good as mine). Some home fry with my fry dipping sauce, and blue cheese dressing are celery. ARman
