Thanks! I didn’t realize cake flour would make that much of a difference, but it did! It was nice because my grocery store sold cake flour in a small bag.

Daughters b-day she asked for Ribs, so I'm doing one set of St. Louis and one set of Baby Backs.

St.Louis is getting the standard Rib Rub and the Baby Backs are getting Peach Bourbon Rub.

Doing the 3-2-1 method on the Traeger, spritz with apple juice once an hour.

Prepped Ribs, pulled skin, excess fat in most places



St Louis on the Left, Baby Backs on the Right, put the rub on last night, pulled a few hours before to let them warm up a bit before going on the smoker.



On the smoker, racked, St Louis on Left, BB on Right, now after 3 hours pulled, wrapped with a small amount of butter patties on each and back on for two hours, then pull, unwrap, turn it up and put them direct on the grate to tighten up.

Those ribs look mighty tasty!

Doing a huge pot of borscht here. Big Grin
Add a dollop of sour cream and a sprinkle of dill in the served dish and HEAVEN!

I think I have posted this before, but oven baked wings that to me are just as good if not better than fried chicken wings. They are so crispy/crunchy yet not fried. I love this recipe. I bit into one wing and then realized I needed to take a picture…lol.

I have never heard of this dish and the picture looks like a blood soup…lol, but after I looked it up it sure sounds like an amazing dish I would like to make! Give me some borscht and some homemade bread and I will be in heaven!

Chicken noodle soup.
Carrots, celery, peas, green beans, mushrooms, parsley, lots of egg noodles, chicken broth and of course white meat chicken.


Been feeling sick these last few days and needed something that was easy on the stomach, tasty, somewhat filling, and nourishing.

Beet soup. My Polish-Russian grandmother made it frequently. Served cold, a boiled potato is optional, a large glop of sour cream is mandatory.

If you just want to try it without taking the time to make it yourself, you can find it in the grocery store (or order it from Amazon).

That grocery store borscht is rather watery and pales in comparison to home made. But yeah it can serve as a sample before taking the plunge to make it at home.

I recommend folks start with the classic Ukrainian recipe which adds cabbage to the beets such as found here:

Served hot or cold with sour cream and dill!

I use quality apple cider vinegar rather than lemon juice. Avoid Braggs as the heirs recently sold to a conglomerate and quality has gone to s**t. Red wine vinegar is also an option.

After trying the classic, tweak to your hearts content with meat, potatoes, other herbs, etc. Many many online recipes document variations.

Got your email, Bob. I am absolutely going to make this and will add some type of meat. It will lower my blood pressure for the next day! I will make sure to add the dollop of sour cream! I am going to make some homemade bread to go with it. I will post pics when I make it. I will probably use one of Jesse’s bread recipes for the bread.

Doing up a simple cheesy beef rice casserole:

1½ lbs ground beef
2 red bell peppers
2 Vidalia onions
½ head shredded green cabbage
14oz can of diced tomatoes
4 cups of cooked rice
8oz sour cream
8oz thick cut Mexican 4 cheese blend shredded cheese
seasoned as appropriate Smile

Prepping


Topped with the cheese and ready for the oven


Currently baking at 300° and will check at 30-35 minutes. Smile
