Yeah, they could make a more realistic approach in a movie and call it:

Silence of the Schools.

'Have the children stopped screaming Clarice?'

What a load of BS.

Thomas Harris (author) modeled the Buffalo Bill character after 3 serial killers. Heidnik, Gein and Bundy. There was no intent to vilify transgenders.

Funny thing is I distinctly remember Levine being praised for having “courage” in portraying a transsexual and adding humanity to the character.

Two things
I’ll start with the second:
But I need to be offended NOW! Mad
I wasn’t offended then, hell, most of these crybabies weren’t around then. But I need to have that temper tantrum, cry, stomp my feet and call people names NOW!!!!

Surrounded by morons.
Yeah, not arguing there. I think they’ve always been there, but now, because of the internet, and the awesome way the “msm” portrays their version of the news, these morons now are heard more. Then the next mouth breather who hears their moronic dribble agrees with them, and regurgitates the moronic dribble, which attracts more morons….
A vicious cycle.

Ya think that moron billy eyelash came up with that original “stolen land” bullshit?
Regurgitated

I’m paying attention to the ICE incidents, I’m pretty much ground zero here. There’s a whole mess of school walk-outs. Yeah, wow, a bunch of high schoolers leaving school and crying. But I’m paying attention to this. And it’s not just here in Chicago, there’s other places that are going through this as well. I’ve noticed that the crying sounds a whole lot alike.
Bullet points! The same bullet points in Chicago, in LA, in Minneapolis… naaa, cant be a coincidence.

The only "team" I see spewing bullshit is Levine. Reading Jodie Foster's reactions to the 35th anniversary, she is proud of the film, doesn't have a bad thing to say.

I think Jody is smart.
If she started bumping her gums about "Ohh the poor tranny community!"
The answer would be quick:
"Then give all the money up."

Levine wants' to start virtue signaling, then the answer is simple:
Put your money where your mouth is.
What was his cut of "Silence of the Lambs"? I'm sure the tranny community will be expecting a check soon. Wink

Theater sales get affected by dumb plots combined with Hollyweird being too dumb to realize normal people don't want to watch their woke shit. People don't want a remake with race-swapping, gender-swapping, forced inclusivity (i.e. LBGQT people are ~9% of population but an insane amount of lead characters), etc. Also don't want original movies with Christian hating themes, man hating themes, and family hating themes.

9%?

More like 0.2%

I had used Gemini AI before making my post and was surprised in the increase. This 2024 Gallup poll was the source Gemini AI had utilized for 9.3%

Why is the trans community so sensitive? White heterosexual men are depicted negatively far more frequently and it doesn’t bother me…..

Their 'beliefs' are all based in horseshit, so when you offer any challenge or even potential argument they are ready to spring, like a mousetrap.

I hate to say it, but they have been emboldened all these years by the quiet and inaction of their detractors. Nobody wants to interact with them and I can't blame them, hasta lasagna and all that.

As for his performance, Levine clarifies, “I didn’t play him as being gay or trans. I think he was just a fucked-up heterosexual man. That’s what I was doing.”
Levine should have simply referred to Harris' novel, which confirms that Buffalo Bill (Jame Gumb) is neither homosexual or transsexual, but, rather merely mimics these orientations.

Chapter 26:

Dr. Lecter amused himself---he has extensive internal resources and can entertain himself for years at a time. His thoughts were no more bound by fear or kindness than Milton's were by physics. He was free in his head.

His inner world has intense colors and smells, and not much sound. In fact, he had to strain a bit to hear the voice of the late Benjamin Raspail. Dr. Lecter was musing on how he would give Jame Gumb to Clarice Starling, and it was useful to remember Raspail. Here was the fat flutist on the last day of his life, lying on Lecter's therapy couch, telling him about Jame Gumb:

"Jame had the most atrocious room imaginable in this San Francisco flophouse, sort of aubergine walls with smears of psychedelic Day-Glo here and there from the hippie years, terribly battered everything.
"Jame---you know, it's actually spelled that way on his birth certificate, that's where he got it and you have to pronounce it 'Jame,' like 'name,' or he gets livid, even though it was a mistake at the hospital---they were hiring cheap help even then that couldn't even get a name right. It's even worse today, it's worth your life to go in a hospital. Anyway, here was Jame sitting on his bed with his head in his hands in that awful room, and he'd been fired from the curio store and he'd done the bad thing again.
"I'd told him I simply couldn't put up with his behavior, and Klaus had just come into my life, of course. Jame is not really gay, you know, it's just something he picked up in jail. He's not anything, really, just a sort of total lack that he wants to fill, and so angry. You always felt the room was a little emptier when he came in. I mean he killed his grandparents when he was twelve, you'd think a person that volatile would have some presence, wouldn't you?

Chapter 53:

"Calumet City, edge of Chicago. Subject's Jame, like 'Name' with a J, last name Gumb, a.k.a. John Grant, WM, thirty-four, one-ninety, brown and blue. Jack got a beep from Johns Hopkins. Your thing---your profile on how he'd be different from a transsexual---it rang the cherries at Johns Hopkins. Guy applied for sex reassignment three years ago. Roughed up a doctor after they turned him down. Hopkins had the Grant alias and a flop address in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The cops had a gas receipt with his tag number and we went from there. Big jacket in California as a juvenile---he killed his grandparents when he was twelve and did six years in Tulare Psychiatric. The state let him out sixteen years ago when they shut down the asylum. He disappeared a long time. He's a fag-basher. Had a couple of scrapes in Harrisburg and faded out again."

That's all he had to do- just say "Refer to the novel." Instead, he grovels and panders. I get it. He's worried about his career and he lives in a world where, at any second, he can be sent to the gulag, but he could have handled this better and could have managed to retain his dignity.
