That started out so well. Went for a walk early this morning before it got hot. A cat crept up behind me and "slapped' my ankle. I ignored it and kept walking. Another slap. And another. Finally, I sat on the curb and she climbed into my lap for a few minutes of pets.

The rest of the day was dog shit that doesn't bear discussing.

As a teen, we had a very playful cat. Little monster's two specialties:

the bed time attack when you're walking to your bedroom half asleep. Out of nowhere paws latched around ankle and playful nibble on Achilles tendon. So much for being half asleep.

the stairway attack when you're coming up the stairs. One side was a railing and she'd come sliding under the bottom rail and take a playful swipe at you. Just as quick as she slid under the rail she'd be back on her feet, back arched, and ready to play. She loved it when you stopped and counterattacked with your arm through the railing.

Most cats slow down at 3 or 4 years old, but she still was playful until age 8.
