Reading the Internet tonight, I ran across this article. Very novel, guess it has it's purpose vs other types of campers. But I would like to have one !
I remember they made something similar on the little Toyota pickups around 40 years ago. I don’t see many on the road anymore. Not that I see many 40 year old motorhomes of any kind on the road.

I know the guy who owns the custom shop that worked with Toyota to create that. He also customized Kevin Costner's Tundra. He gets to do some pretty cool stuff.
Nah man. I’ll take 1980’s colors & design over the shittastic crap of this “modern” era. ESPECIALLY when it comes to Toyota’s aesthetic capability in design. Why not pay homage to an incredibly fun time in America’s and Toyota’s history?

Ooh, I remember those. They were made in the late 1970s. They were just on the regular "½-ton" chassis, and the rear axle was not beefed up to deal with either the extra weight or the one-piece dual rear wheel which additionally put a sideways loading on the bearing, so it didn't hold up. I saw one that somehow made it to the 1990s by the side of I-15, pancaked on the ground with its right rear wheel missing somewhere off in the brush and a flame licking out of the axle tube. And the little 22R was woefully underpowered, about on par with the old-style VW buses.

There is no price for this camper because it is a concept vehicle made for SEMA this year. If someone does decide to make this it would probably be at least a couple of years before it became available for purchase.
