Looking for a wide toe, heavy duty, non steel toe, Chelsea boot UPDATE PG 2: Made a decision!!!
Looking for a dark brown, Chelsea boot, with a wide non steel toe.
Needs to withstand pretty good abuse that I can just hose off.

Dr. Martins makes one that looks like what I am going for minus the steel toe.

Dr. Martens Work Men's Fellside Steel Toe SD Chelsea Bark 12 D UK https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074..._api_i_-bTdCbZ1Z9V2X

But I am not happy with Dr. Martins current quality. I have a pair of Wellington boots that after 2 years the soles both in and out are completely shot. The leather has held up great. Looking for something not so throw away. My first pair of Dr. Martins that were made in England and not China served me for almost 10 years before the rear of the sole became unusable.

Tried on some Blundstones today and they seemed soft and flimsy.

Not fully opposed to Dr. Martins if nothing else fits the bill.

Try Red Wing Shoes, their work boots are pretty tough, last long time.

If you can kill a pair of Red Wings, you’re doing real things in life. I did my damndest with a pair that’s still going strong 7 years later. They looked at me funny when I brought them in the one time to get them polished and re-laced (included in their warranty), absolutely caked and packed with flour and crusted kitchen floor slime, but they made them nice without attitude beyond intitial horror. Head ye to the nearest dealer.

My new Frye boots are not as good as my 20-year-old ones but they are still pretty good.

Had already checked Red Wing and don’t really see a Chelsea Boot in their lineup.
They have this but not looking for the athletic look type of sole.

Are any of their boots made in the states anymore? Everything seemed to be Vietnam and Cambodia.

Check out Sierra Trading Post. They have a big selection of Red Wing and Chippewa right now and many are made in USA.

I've had good luck with Mark Nason boots as well as boots made by John Varvatos. They are kinda spendy, but most anything worth buying is.

The last few suggestions are nice but way to fancy.
These are going to be mud stompers on frequent occasions.
Hence the reason I just want to be able to hose them off.

I already have a set of off brand tall Muck boots. Looking for leather to wear with jeans and khakis but get dirty if need be as well.
I have been wearing Dr. Martins Wellingtons for 2 years but don’t want them as tall and easier to get in and out of.

Looks like Keen has a pair that fits the bill. Did not realize they made boots that did not have those jacked up toes and weird shapes.

Wonder if I’ll get more than 2 years out of them.

Have you looked at Georgia Boots? They have a Chelsea style although it isn't a steel toe. They do have a bunch of other styles, some steel toes. https://www.georgiaboot.com/ge...156_color=21#start=1

Shoes all made in either the US (PR) or in the Dominican Republic.

Georgia seems to have a pretty decent Instagram following with actual folks wearing and using the boots and looks like some folks have beat them pretty good and are happy with them.

Also found Ariat makes a pair too. I have a pair of Ariat boots that lasted me quite some time and are still good just got too small. Guess I’ll head to the closest boot dealer that carries both.

Wolverine makes a chelsea boot https://www.bootbay.com/w20508...sea-work-boots-brown

Ariat https://www.zappos.com/p/ariat...8851534/color/677435

https://www.bootbay.com/100025...-casual-boots-peanut

Red Wing https://www.zappos.com/p/red-w...9112775/color/774187

But also, imo, chelsea boots don't look all that much different from most ropers once the pants leg is down over the shaft, so you might find a pair of ropers that would do double duty better. You could just get a pair of Red Wing Pecos, for instance.

If Ariat makes a pair of those and they’re up to par with the two pairs of “Heritage” wide square toe ropers I have, that might well be worth looking into. I’m pleased with my Ariats and have been wearing one pair of them almost daily for going on two years now (the brown version they currently offer), the other I save for dressier occasions (deer tan black: looks great, but scuffs easily). I easily see getting many more years out of them.
