I remember those very well. I cut my foot open one time on one of the pull tabs and I'm sure I'm not alone.
A friend of mine took his metal detector to a local state park and surrounding 98,520 acre lake. In the areas popular with swimming, camping, etc., he found he could not go more than 1 foot without finding several pull tabs just under the surface. There had to be millions of these things.

Euro twist tops are a good idea. If folks don't like it attached, just pull it off. If it's too hard to remove then that's too bad. They are worthless and weak and don't deserve to drink anyway. Big Grin

Maybe I'm looking at this wrong. If if wasn't for those damn pull tabs, that song might not have ever been written. Big Grin

Hate them, they get in the way of my mouth and the little plastic nibs are sharp as hell. I rip them off soon as I open it.

Oh boy, more "easy open" packaging that I can have a fit of rage over and wonder how badly I can be injured when attempting to use.
How about re-introducing the steel can and a church key to open.

They don't bother me at all, but I can actually keep up with a plastic bottle cap so I may be biased.

I had no clue, I just thought it was odd that every bottle of water I drank had a defective cut on the tops. Eek
