I hope the judge has a list of everyone in the audience. Someday, somewhere these twerps will be pleading a case before him and I hope he remembers their names.

For years, Stanford faculty has been trying to get the excellent Hoover Institution thrown off campus.
They also tried to suppress the work of Jay Bhattacharya and especially Scott Atlas of Hoover when the latter two were telling the truth about the COVID lockdown disasters.

Somewhere / some time in history, the right made a bad decision that has allowed the insane to not only survive but flourish. There are times we should just let Darwin work. When we don’t, it seems we will need to artificially make corrections to make up for those mistakes.

Stanford used to be the 'conservative school' amongst the line-up of SF Bay Area universities, it was a component of the Cal v Stanford rivalry, along with all the cleaver swipes at each other from their respective STEM departments. Much of it was due to Stanford students not being engaged in pop-culture but networking and industry pursuits.

Since all the defense companies moved out of Silicon Valley starting in the early 90's, along with military base closures, the area has lurched distinctively Leftward. Stanford's Hoover Institute stands as a bulwark on campus against the tide of leftist ideology, long time conservative critic and commentator Victor Davis Hansen, economist Thomas Sowell and lawyer Richard Epstein are amongst its roster of fellows while former SecState Condolezza Rice serves as its Director.

Very true, corsair. The Bay Area, as far as I know, has NO remaining military installations of significance; the closest I can think of being Travis AFB in Fairfield. SF even turned down having the USS Missouri as a museum ship IIRC. In Sacramento area, Mather and McLellan are long gone; on the peninsula, Moffitt now used only for NASA. The Presidio of course now occupied by NGO's plotting further leftist takeovers I imagine. Hell I'm old enough to remember F-94's at Hamilton AFB in Marin County.

So are you keeping dry?

Slight thread drift: The east side of Moffett still has the CA ANG's 129th Rescue Wing.

Hamilton AFB is lots of housing, the runway is now a flooded wetland:

Stanford, what a joke of a school. Following as fast as it can behind Harvard. Their degrees were worth something above average, but no longer. Just liberal factories now.

Stanford, again what a joke of a school.

Stanford refuses to fire woke inclusivity dean who ambushed judge

“The Trump-appointed judge who was heckled by law students at Stanford and the school's dean of inclusivity has spoken out to slam their ultra-woke stunt and attack on his free speech, saying none of them are fit to work in America's legal system.
……
In an interview with Rod Dreher that he published on Substack, Judge Duncan said the entire debacle was an embarrassment that made him fear for the country's future.

'This is one of the best law schools in the world. The students are the cream of the crop. The future judges, senators, presidents, leaders of industry.

'And yet here is a mob of the best and brightest, shouting down a federal judge who’s been invited to campus, and thereby demonstrating that they don’t have the foggiest grasp of the basic concept of legal discourse: you have to meet reason with reason. Instead, their operating principle is: If I don’t like what you say or think, I will silence you. …”

Travis is the lone remaining active base in the area, Beale further up north in Oroville is still operational also. Moffett while still an active airfield and federal property is run by NASA Ames; the ANG rescue unit operates on the other side of the airfield. Adjacent to that side of the former base is Lockheed's space campus building satellites. Interestingly, Mare Island while no longer a navy shipyard still does ship repair, has been getting a steady stream of Navy & Coast Guard ships for work.

Thanks for asking, staying dry here, just a bit of water intrusion around the bathroom fan vent on the roof, fixable. We've gotten a record amount of snow at the end of Feb and early March, now this series of storms is warmer but the rain is creating more problems for those at the 3-6000ft elevation. Roof collapses are happening all around the Sierras, South Lake Tahoe is having a hell of time as several markets have been red-tagged, trailer homes are getting crushed; there's so much snow, we're going to skip Spring and go straight into Summer. Squaw Valley is reporting 650 inches to date. Eek

In my impetuous youth, I had no problem getting into out a physical or verbal fight. Not that I sought them out, I just wasn't the one who would back down. I won some I lost some, but I tried to learn from them all.

One of the things I learned really quick is that loudest one before the fight is usually the first to cry.

Do you suppose the judge realizes he is presenting a logical fallacy?

"Best and brightest" is a relative concept. You can be the best and brightest - and be trained badly since childhood all the way through law school. You can also be the best and the brightest of those who've managed to squeeze through the filters of woke-ism.

"Law school graduate" is, in its own little way, a title. In the land of the woke, the important thing is to be sure that titles go to those who've been trained to believe, not those who've learned how to do the job. Otherwise someone might take the work of those to who've been trained to do the job and make a "bad decision".

Federalist Society chapter.

Wonder how many of the "protesters" were actually law students, Stanford is a big university, all it takes is some posting online to get a bunch of people to show up for an event and cause a disruptions.

Its done all the time, by the left to organize attacks on speakers, politicians, or to even commit crimes.

Stanford should require student ID's be scanned at the door so they can keep out the riff raff and insure that all inside are students, then, they could take action for those breaking the protocol for these events.

So far the administration has shown they don't really support 1A and free speech or the discussion of alternative ideas since the only repercussion has been a half assed apology..
