Your employer says you can have a handgun and a rifle at work with stipulations. What and how do you carry?
Main considerations/stipulations.
Carrying concealed loaded rifles and handguns is legal in your state be it in your vehicle and your work place.
You work in your typical high rise office building, with multiple different companies in the space. Not a fortified building no metal detectors no real specific reason to worry about needing the weapons really. Just purely a you never know what might happen sort of scenario.
You wear business casual clothing and both your handgun and rifle must be concealed at all
times. Your carry must be inconspicuous and not say gun at all.
You have a safe in your office to keep the rifle but it is rather small and a folding 16” AR just barely fits. No SBR, Suppressor, or brace allowed.

What handgun and ammo in what holster?
What rifle and ammo in what pack/bag?
Let’s put a $3000 budget total for the guns.

So why? There are as many answers to that as there are members here.
For me it varies based on many factors including clothing that day.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Glock 26 milled for a red dot and some carbine that takes Glock mags.

Or Glock 43X with a red dot, 300 blackout carbine with folding stock.

To hear folks different opinions as maybe someone may suggest a combination others had not thought about.
The stipulations including attire are outlined above.
So far we have some folks that want to keep it simple and would choose not to have a rifle simply because they don’t want to carry it others would.
Just a fun little scenario to see what folks would do.

Don’t we ask all sorts of firearm and non-firearm related questions that could have multiple answer based upon individual choices here daily??

Isn’t that the point of a discussion forum??

Ok, I'll play along:
Glock 17 with five mags in a covert carry pack. I have a Vertx.
IFAK with enough supplies for two people.
The G17 would have a WML. Night sights too. Optic is an option.
Be prepared to lose the Glock if you use it.
I would not bother with a rifle as my goal would be to escape an active shooter, not to engage in a search and destroy operation.

AR pistol with LAW folder in a back pack
G19
Couple of mags for both

This is what I usually travel with, but my AR pistol has a DOLOS quick barrel removal adapter on it so the gun can be broken down/barrel removed. I also use a can

IMO no rifle. The scenario states there is no particular suspected threat, so there's little reason to expect trained military type attack. Almost every workplace attack involves a single disgruntled or crazy person who can be stopped with a handgun.

As someone not trained in using a rifle in an office environment, I'd be better off with my handgun. I am defending my own life, not hunting down the attacker like some Navy SEAL.

I would prefer on body concealment. I like my P320 in 9mm for size and magazine capacity, plus I'd carry a spare mag.

If that isn't practical, there are many concealment cases that could be carried around or kept at one's desk. Computer bags, brief cases, etc, that have office utility and also hold the gun. There are obvious risks of accidentally leaving the case unattended, so I would try to make on body carry work.

Toss a small safe in the office, that's where the AR is going to stay. A regular M-4 with a RDS & light, nothing special, nothing expensive, just reliable. 5.56 / .223 frangible rounds.

If not an AR, a Pump - or Semi shotgun of your flavor: Mossberg, Remington, Benelli, Beretta...
Lightmount & a nice combination of 00, Slug and some 8 shot depending on the office layout.

CCW- G-19 Surfire XC1, with a G-19 magazine in, a handful of G-17 mags.
G-19 +1 mag stays on me, other mags in the safe

A nice first aid kit somewhere close and accessible to all.

Someone (preferably 2 more) that knows how to use this shit as well.

Id just carry my Glock 19 or sig p365xl iwb in one my own holsters. 1 extra mag in a pocket mag holster. If permitted to have a rifle, I'd probably keep my m&p15 with extra mags and handgun mags in a quick access safe under a piece of furniture or wall safe behind a picture or cabinet. Keeping a rifle at work would heavily depend on how secure my office was. I'd want to be able to lock it and keep anyone else including cleaning staff out.

I think my P-12 in .45ACP in an IWB would work.

Probably my ubiquitous G26 with a couple of spare G19 mags. The carbine likely would be another pistol- a 4” barrel PSA AR9 with a red dot sight that takes Glock mags for interchangeability in either direction.

Both are easy to conceal, though the AR9 would be a SHTF gun for emergencies and locked up until needed. It would be ideal for the tight indoor spaces where I work. As a bonus, it’s small and light enough to be carried to and from the lock box in about any gym bag sized tote and cheek weld shoot if things go bad.

Me too. Self-employed so that’s not a concern. I’ve carried a variety over the years and presently a 365xl. Before that, a Shield. Earlier a G27.
Long guns don’t factor into the daily carry routine.
That’s pretty much my situation anywhere carry isn’t strictly prohibited.
My wife knows, but nobody else.

"I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times."

I keep it simple: Glock 19 or 26 and a PSA AR with a 2 stage trigger that will fit in that safe loaded with Speer Gold Dots or Winchester Ranger.

Oftentimes we want to talk gear but neglect things such as tactics, physical conditioning, situational understanding, etc.

I've read some stories of guys here who CCW 2 pistols, 8 mags, an AR pistol in a backpack with 10 mags, 2 flashlights, etc. I didn't even carry that much shit in combat. Keep it simple and keep yourself maneuverable.

Going with what I own:
P320C IWB, my current EDC.
P11 if I needed something with a smaller footprint.

Buying something new, would swap the P11 for a P365

Both my rifles are 16" ARs, would probably take the one that's kitted a bit more wit ha RDS.

Buying something else, maybe a Scorpion?
