C-DubsThe 2019-2020 Big Ten football thread - IU's Bowl on Pg 21
9 penalties versus 2 for the Ducks, and 4 turnovers versus 1.
38 minutes possession versus 22 won't mean a thing if you can't hold onto the ball and you make dumb mistakes.
I do think Coan won't be under center next season thankfully.

Yeah, but the truth is they barely beat the Badgers, who lost to Ohio, who lost to Clemson.
PAC-12 is still the 5th wheel in College Football.
Ok, but Oregon beat Cal who beat Illinois, who beat Wisconsin.

tatortodd New Year's Day Bowl Game Wrap-up: #18 MN vs #12 Auburn at noon on ESPN in Tampa, FL, for the Outback Bowl. I wish I had watched this game instead of the Walmart Wolverines. From the highlights and box score, it looks like Morgan and Johnson played outstandingly well with each other (over 2/3 of the team's passing yardage and 2/3 of the passing TDs), Ibrahim had a nice day rushing, the line had an awesome day giving up 0 sacks and making openings for 215 yards D, and the D had a solid team effort (i.e. nobody stood out statistically).
#14 UofM vs #13 Alabama at noon on ABC in Orlando, FL, for the Citrus Bowl. Good first half but disappointing second half. What happened to UofM's vaunted pass rush (0 sacks)? Auburn's back-up QB had plenty of time to pick apart the secondary for 325 yards and 3 passing TDs. Kudos to the Tide for their halftime adjustments that produced points and shutdown UofM's offense. A lot of things need to change in Ann Arbor or they'll have more season where they're 2-4 against Top 15 teams.
#6 Oregon vs #8 WI at 4:00 on ESPN in Pasadena, CA, for the grand daddy of them all (i.e. the Rose Bowl). The Badgers didn't just shoot themselves in the foot, they double tapped themselves in both feet (i.e. 4 turnovers). Good back and forth game, but I just sat there with the sinking feeling the Badgers were going to blow it. WI's defense should kick their offense in the taint for that performance.
It's been a long time since I was 100% wrong on winner and 67% wrong on spread.

I've never wagered a dime on my ridiculous predictions in the annual Big Ten thread. I post them for two reasons:
my own amusement
to try to spark discussion. Doesn't work as often as I would like.

That was terrible. If that was PI, there would be nothing but penalties instead of a football game.

Did not think you did. Appreciate the fact that you take the time to do this. It beats the stupidity and constant trolling on Twitter. Next up Indiana. When was their last bowl appearance LOL

What was the adage in pro football? On any given Sunday the worst team in the NFL can beat the best. What I like about college ball is that it is generally entertaining and often you have no idea who is going to make stupid mistakes and blow the game.

tatortodd Jan 2nd Bowl: IU vs TN at 6:00 on ESPN in Jacksonville, FL, for the Gator Bowl. The Hosers are unanimously the underdog by 2.5 points. Statistically, IU has a 8 ppg better offense and is 90 ypg better on passing. On defense, IU is nearly 3 ppg worse. They have zero common opponents and they combined for zero wins against ranked opponents. I going with IU to pull off the upset.

Didn't the Badgers crush the Gophers? The list goes on and on... War Beagles often chump out in bowl games.

sig sailorThe only good news about the Michigan vs Alabama game is that the useless tit of a QB will never again wear a Michigan uniform.

Wait - we get partial credit on this one too, while losing across state at the same time? Sweet!

Thanks to the coach for that one. Patterson came from Ole Miss. I thought Coach H. specialized in developing great quarterbacks. I guess that does not apply to college kids.

ChanceStill kind of in shock that MN won against Auburn. I was just hoping for a respectable showing. It has been great watching MN do so well this year. I have been a Gopher fan since Tony Dungy was their QB (number 9). Even before I went to school there. It has been awesome.

MillironWell, the Hosers went full Browns. Nice win, TN. Jiminy Christmas.

C-DubsAlthough there were a few great wins, I'm disappointed in the 4-5 record for this year's B1G bowl games.

PowerSurgePoor Hoosiers didn’t have their starting QB Penix. Would’ve been a different outcome for sure.

For a Big 10 fan this one has to really hurt. Worst, Tennessee really didnt even have a QB. They kept benching the starter. Then they put him back in and he throws a pick 6. Indiana's bigger problem was the kicker, left at least 4 points on the field.

Nah. Go look at Indiana’s football program’s history. This was the first year since 1994 that they broke into the top 25. Everyone knows Hoosiers in general are basketball freaks and most couldn’t care less about football. They usually finish well below .500 every year.
Good for them to turn it around, at least for one season.
