"If there's one thing this last week has taught me, it's better to have a gun and not need it than to need a gun and not have it." Clarence Worley February 28, 2018, 07:24 AM
JALLENThe guy had already killed his in laws and shot her grandfather so there was not much point in taking foolish chances.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.
When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown February 28, 2018, 08:00 AM
WinoThe officer showed extreme courage walking up to the armed perp with no cover and taking the time to wait for an open shot.
Clearly the victim would not be alive today if it wasn't for him.

p.d.This case has been referred to the Higher Court.

ACTEGThat officer is an absolute Hero! Good shoot!

CromOne can easily imagine what the post-incident "Liberal Narrative" would have been if there were not the overhead helicopter video of the whole incident.
Even the body cam videos would not have clearly exonerated the officer, there was too much shaking and unclarity of the details. The helicopter video really made it simple. Especially with the vibration suppression and zoom.
"Crom is strong! If I die, I have to go before him, and he will ask me, 'What is the riddle of steel?' If I don't know it, he will cast me out of Valhalla and laugh at me."

CooksterThe now faceless scumbag must not have heard that Mr. Chack-chack was on his way in to settle matters, or else he would have peacefully surrendered.

LtJLwell, he did have a head-start; shouldn't go head-to head with a guy with a 12 guage. My experience on the range is that at that distance, the spread o what was probably 9 pellet 00 was negligable.

Anyone of those would have deescalated the situation!

911BossImma gonna call this a “successful de-escalation technique”.
Snowflakes always crying for cops to de-escalate things to resolve the situation. Brother resolved the SHIT out of that and as far as I am concerned, it was a (rest in)peaceful resolution.

bubbatimeWith 10 years in law enforcement (now done and not going back) there was always at least ONE guy who fucking handled business. Everyone stood around with their thumbs in their ass stuck in indecision mode, and one fucking bad ass would swoop in, apply just and proper force, and decisively end the confrontation. He's probably the guy on the brass's radar, the gung ho guy who is always called in to the Lieutenants office. A good guy to have on every shift, no doubt.
We just witnessed one of those folks in action. And it was a beautiful thing to see. He saw a problem. He solved a problem. No bullshit. No indecision. God bless him and the many just like him.
