I shot a lot action games for many years. Like two or three matches a week. I never had any trouble switching back and forth as I used different guns for different games. But I never reached for a mag or slide release in the wrong place. I was shooting a lot though - lots of practice.

When my hands still worked right, 1911s, preferably 38 super double stacks. (Shot plenty in 45 as well, though.)

Now, that they just don’t seem to be that reliable, revolvers are a better choice.

well I have 9 mm .40, 357 sig and 45 all Glocks but tried most of the rest. I will shoot the 45, 40 and 357 some but most of the time I pick up the 9 mm. I have considered just going all 9 mm because I load it and the .357.
the .357 is starting to punish me and I don't shoot it as much as I use to. If I didnt think I would take a bath on the rest I might just go all 9. It does everything I want it too and sometimes having all those choices is kind of a pain.

Sig DA/SA in 9mm for the guns that I trust my life to. Carry and night stand guns. Anything else is just a toy.

For hunting guns, no standardizing there. I have shotguns in 410, 20, 16, and 12 and rifles in .22LR, .243, .270, and 7x57.

All my handguns are P series Sigs because I prefer that they all work the same. I carry most of them from time to time and they are .357 Sig or 9MM. I shoot all of them regularly at the range.

In thinking about this some more I realized that for a number of years I had Ruger P95s in various places around the house.... my plan right now is to replace them with Sig P239s....

I have pretty much standardized on the calibers I shoot, I have guns in other calibers I have not shot in years.
12 gauge
22lr
357 mag
38 special
44 magnum
45 acp
5.56 nato /223
7.62 nato /308
7.69x39
9mm
I can't standardize on a platform, I like them all Smile

I decided to downsize and standardize my guns in 2010. So far, I am up fourteen guns since then.

The U.S. Navy introduced me to the 1911 in 1963. I carry one of several 1911 government models in either .45 ACP or 10mm with a spare magazine on my belt plus a Sig P938 9mm in my pocket.

My thumb automatically wipes the safety on the draw for my 1911s, my Glock 35, my SA XDMs, and my revolvers.

I like to keep my "defensive carry" pistols all the same trigger/control systems.

I can never afford a large collection, so I've been all DA/SA triggers (Sig P series) and I've been all SA trigger (1911) and I've been all striker fired (Glock)

Currently have G19, 26, and 42 for various defensive duties.
I also love range guns such as single action revolvers and 22LR pistols and other oddities.

Limited calibers, yes, 9mm and .45ACP. I do have .357 barrels for a couple of my handguns (P320 and P229) as well as a .40 barrel for P229

As for platforms, no. I enjoy P22X, P320, P365, HK VP9, HK P30, HK P7M8, 1911, and SP101.

Not all get carried, primarily the P365/P320 or P30

My friends call me a freak of nature because I can also swap between multiple platforms and setups without skipping a beat also.
I have a fairly large variety of recreational guns, but my carry guns are glocks and a Ruger lcp 2. No science to that just what I ended up with.
I still have revolvers and 1911’s, and shoot them all about equally well, but ironically have the most struggle with the 1911, not operating controls or manipulation but it just seems harder for me to get fast shots on target than with revolvers or glocks ( I can still do it though)
My first love is 22’s and have multiple varieties of 22 pistols all with very different controls. That doesn’t bother me either.
With what is going on with ammo supply these days ( though being a reloader does mitigate this to a great extent) having multiple firearms in various calibers seems like a better idea than we use during to think.
While I missed the boat due to the current panic, I was kicking around buying a couple cheap police trade in 40’s to have as car guns.
