I can’t attest to the other States’ listings, but how they (whoever “they” are) came up with “Swedish Fish” for Kentucky is an absolute mystery. I had to look it up to find out what this candy is—sorta like “gummy fish shapes”. I’ve never even seen a bag of this candy. Eek

The data on the map is based on google searches, not the actual biggest sellers.

I always try to grab a bag of Hershey Miniatures. I Especially like the dark chocolate and not so much the
rice Krispies.

According to the map, which was created by Bid on Equipment based on Google search volume, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups were the most popular candy in 12 states.

Most popular candy does NOT equate the candy you give away for free to people you do not know.

My house is dark on the 31st but I help my brother. They use bags and bags of the mixed mini-chocolate bars. Probably all Hershey products. Plus bags of Dum-Dum lollypops. Some Tootsie-Rolls, Milk-Duds, and probably a few others for variety. The small colored chewy gumdrops in the little boxes used to be my favorite.

I'm not going to suffer through a video when a simple text list would have adequately conveyed the information, so I don't know what they ascribe to Virginia's tastes.

But what I do know is that, out of the pile of give-away candy we had at the Chantilly gun show's VCDL table last weekend, the variety that disappeared fastest were the Reeses by a long shot, and that didn't even include my predation on the malted milk balls.

I think the Mars Bar became Snickers (with almonds).

Never made it past the Ale-8-One to look for the fishy stuff.

Says that the NJ favorite is Snickers.

My experience, utilizing the 'pick one, your choice' from the variety bucket, seems to bear that out.

Snickers, followed by Reese's PB Cups and then by Peanut M&M's have been the local favorites for the last 25+ years.

If that's true, why is San Francisco's candy Milky Way and not Big Hunk?

I usually go trick-or-treating with a martini glass instead of a bag for candy.

Well Swedish Fish all all over here. I find the empty packages all over the bus.

The only candy I really care about is dark chocolate.

Well, I prefer any that I can snatch from my grandkids. They turn their heads, and I've got it. They know I'm the culprit and I guess they don't mind. I also like to go to wallyworld and try to buy some on-sale after Halloween things. My wife doesn't like to buy candy.

Even the map is fake news. Mars candy in the land of Hershey... you know that's bullshit.
