Other than food, wanna see some guns?
Keith's Sporting goods in Gresham, and Sporting Systems in Vancouver.
One of the best restaurants in Vanc is at the Heathman Lodge. Not much else IMHO, and I live here.
Avoid downtown if at all possible, especially at night what with all the homeless and Antifa shit.
Visit the Columbia River Gorge, maybe Timberline Lodge. Lots to see, oh, and the wine country.

Hilton Vancouver

go north from the Hilton on Washington st or Main St a few blocks and you will find places to eat.

You are close to the Clark Co. Sheriff's office, so you could bring the proper ID and other paperwork, fill out a form, get printed and apply for a WA CCW permit since you must apply in person. Unless your happy with whatever permits you have already.

Feral Public House

Not far from where you are staying. Great wings and beer selection. They have a large selection of their own and guest taps.

If you like book stores, Powell's Books is a great place to burn some time.

Hell yes! Is that a rare book store? I love those.

Powell's has a couple of other locations, but the main one, Powell's City of Books, claims to be the largest independent new and used bookstore in the world. It has 68,000 square feet of retail space.

They do have a rare book room for particularly rare/valuable books, and all throughout the store there are used copies of out of print books that aren't really rare, but wouldn't be available in a new-only bookstore.

Sig Sauer Kraut
Since you’ll be so far north, I’ll recommend breakside brewery on Dekum. They had the hottest jalapeños I’ve ever eaten. I wouldn’t get them again, but the other food was solid.

They have a Danner store?? I had no idea. I’ve worn nothing but Danners for years.

Any McMenamins restaurant. Good food and they brew their own beer. There are better restaurants, but McMenamins is a signature Oregon chain.

Edgefield Winery is probably the most pleasant McMenamins to visit. Its on your way to the Multnomah Falls just off the 84 and on the outskirts of the Portland Metro area. Its really a property with a hotel and a golf course. Its got a main restaurant with other bars within the property.

Other McMenamins restaurants worth checking out are the Grand Lodge (I live 10 minutes from there), and Oak Hills Brew Pub.

Their communication breakdown burger is really good.

McCormick and Schmicks, Golden Valley Brewery and Thirsty Lion are among our favorites.

If you're looking for a good cheesesteak, Grant's Philly Cheesesteak restaurant is a good hole in the wall.

Off the beaten path is Helvetia Tavern. It's just a mile or two from Roloff Farms (The little people on the TLC show). The Helvetia Burger is very good.

If you're looking for little dive (there are plenty), eat at Pambiche cuban restaurant in Northeast Portland. Seats about 10 people in the restaurant with a line around the corner.

I loathe downtown Portland and try to stay out of it. The street system there horrid. Very easy to get lost and very frustrating to find your way back to where you're going.

I'm no fan of Voodoo doughnuts. Not impressed.

For an amazing breakfast, Babica Hen in Lake Oswego. I can't stress this enough.

I also give a +1 for Le Petite Provance. One of my wife's favorites. There's one in Lake Oswego.

Tony.

Forgot about Le Petite Provance, excellent breakfast.
