BeancookerYeah, prickly pear is a cactus fruit. They are rather sweet and taste has been described well as "natural bubblegum and watermelon".
The juice is okay, and it mixes well with other juices. Think orange and grapefruit with a little cactus fruit to sweeten it. My wife likes it because of the antioxidants and health reasons.
I have never eaten the fruit itself. It’s edible and a lot of people like it. It’s just a little too seedy for my liking.
The landscape here is pretty awesome. I really like it and it’s great to get out four wheeling.

OzarkwoodsPre ride checking his quad, did you point out it was time to get new tires? Flat tire in that country would not be fun!

. Nice pics coming down for the winter to Surprise can’t wait to hit the trails with my SxS and Jeep.

Let me know when you get here. You’re only 100 miles south. I have a Razor in the garage that needs to stretch its legs when it cools off.

My mom made jelly from the prickly pear fruits--it was really good! Very similar to red currant jelly.

I've had it as jelly. Good.

Plumbers torch. Pick them with tongs, bring home, wear welders gloves and torch the thorns.
