I wish you could have heard them,
three of the 9 ladies kept very quiet,
5 were especially adamant about the use of military vehicles ( especially with weapons )

Appalled does not begin to express their disdain
.

I mean they were spittin and kickin mad.

all were over 78 , I'd guess.

I honk and wave when I see military convoys on the road.

I imagine it has more to do with who is running the country rather than the vehicles in a parade.

A majority (not all) of that generation still get their news from the nightly network news shows, morning network talk shows and print newspapers - all of which are obviously extremely biased.

My father in law passed away last summer - he only watched network news and the print newspaper (from Chicago). He had no internet and no other sources, so you can imagine how polluted his mind was.

Those sources don't even pretend to be neutral any more - they explicitly and knowingly push an agenda.

Quite a contrast to what we see here on the Coast. Every military celebration, parade etc is accompanied by large groups of cheering crowds.

When I read your title I was expecting to read about happiness and not disappointment or consternation. Are Californians moving to Iowa?

Imperial AT-ATs Begin Arriving In Capital For Military Parade

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Ahead of Trump's planned July 4 military parade, several dozen Imperial walkers began to arrive in Washington throughout the week.

The AT-ATs were dropped off by U.S. Space Force Star Destroyers just outside the city and then slowly marched toward the capital (rather than being dropped right next to their target, for some reason). Military bands solemnly played the Imperial March in honor of their arrival. Trump was seen at the White House, pointing excitedly at the looming all-terrain armored transports through an Oval Office window.

"Wow, look at those guys!" he said while gleefully clapping his hands. "Do you think President Xi has any of those? I bet he doesn't. Ha! Guy is probably sooooo jealous right now. And North Korea only has those little chicken walkers! This is definitely the best military parade on the planet!"

He quickly added that he "loves democracy" however.

Spitting and kickin Mad. That would seem to be unsanitary in the Subway. Love those unique figures of speech. I guess it compares to Fixin to be tied.

there are only three pro gun stickers , here in tiny town ,
two are on pick ups at the high school and the third one is on an 18 y.o. suburban.
it belongs to an 84 y.o. widow who still mows her own 1/3 acre yard

It is sad to think those same ladies lived through some interesting events in history, that without those military vehicles/weapons, we wouldn't have the freedoms we have now. Just goes to prove, some people can be stupid all of their lives.

The media is worthless to me. For more than 10 days, all of the soundbites I heard referred to "tanks rolling down the street."

Hogwash. As I expected, they got it totally wrong. Static displays, and no tanks rolling down Pennsylvania Avenue. Some may have freaked out about the flybys during Trump's NON-political speech. Wasn't Trump going to create a political event out of this, infuriating dimwit congress-critters who ran to the microphones and video cameras freaking out about it?

The media spent almost two weeks spinning up the TDS meter.

Smart people notice things like this. I hope they vote accordingly.

If The President spoke at all it would be labeled "Political" no matter what was said. If he remained mute, he'd be criticized for being insensitive to those who serve. Whatever credibility the MSM once claimed to have has been long since squandered.

Maybe the bitchy old biddies needed to change their Depends. A lot of people are like puppets...they get a hand stuck up their sphincter hole, they get their mouth moved, and the crap that spews forth is what they've been told to parrot. Not one independent, self-thinking brain cell in their skull...

"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil... Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel." - Isaiah 5:20,24
