I have an HP laptop that keeps pissing me off and I swear one day I'm just going to take it to the range and put it out of my misery . The problem is I have a pretty large Favorites folder that I would hate to lose .Can I copy this to a flash drive and dump it on my new machine when the time comes ?

If is an internet favorites folder, you should be able to export it to a file on your desktop, attach it to an email, then email it to yourself

google: how do i backup my internet favorites folder on a PC Here's the first hit: Internet Explorer (Windows) - How to Backup Favorites Open Internet Explorer. On the toolbar, click File -> Import and Export... Click Next at the Import/Export Wizard window. Select Export Favorites, click Next. Select the folder that you want to export. Click Next. Browse to the location where you want the exported file saved. Click Next. Click Finish. On my Mac, I use Safari as the browser. I can go into the OS Library and copy/paste the Bookmarks folder. There is also an Export Bookmarks choice under the Safari File dropdown along the toolbar.

Yes, for IE the folder is: C:\Users\Your Name\Favorites (Your Name should be your actual name from when you set up the computer). Use File Explorer to navigate there. Inside Favorites are the main folders of your favorites and inside those folders are the actual internet shortcut files. Just copy the whole \Favorites folder to the thumb drive and drop them into the folder on another computer.
