Where do you get your flags & what size for a 20ft pole?

Light to moderate wind & lots of sun

Get a telescoping pole from Uncommon USA also 100% USA made at least their flagpoles are.

There is a Lowes in Spring Texas. They sell American made US flags. They may have the TX flag as well.

I’m a long-time customer of Valley Forge flags. Made in USA, and that’s both U.S. and state flags. You can go as big as 4’x 6’ on a 20’ pole, I suppose 3 x 5’ would probably be better if you’re going to fly 2 flags.

Obviously, I could go to Lowes/HD, but was hoping for some brand recommendations as well.
The current, worn, flags that are there don't really get much motion with the light wind we usually have.

Will have to see if I can swing a 4x6 & 3x5, or if 2x 3x5 would be the better route.

I buy my U.S. flags from Allegiance Flags. They are well made. That having been said, when we expect rain and wind I take them down. I have a 25 foot pole.
I have a 4x6 for everyday and a 5x7 for Veterans Day, Memorial Day and Independence Day. Any other flag I fly with the 4x6 is is 3x5. The only time I fly any other flag with the 5x7 is Memorial Day I fly a POW/ MIA flag and only after noon when I raise the flag to full staff.

If you want motion in light wind, get the 3x5 nylon lightweight flags. The heavier duty flags will stay pretty motionless in anything under 10 to 15 mph winds (especially in a 4x6 size).

I have a 25 ft pole with 4x6 and 3x5, but get nice coastal winds to make them fly.

Have had good luck with these people. Flag Store USA. US made and good selection of flags. Bought several flags and two 20 foot poles from them. I have a 25ft on which I fly OLD GLORY and two 20ft poles for state and Christian flags. I buy all weather flags since I have lights on them so they fly 24/7.

I have ordered a few of these over the years for my 20' pole. They're Veteran owned and made in the USA. They last very well.

Finally remembered & ordered 2 3x5 flags on Wednesday.
Noticed my TX flag has a tear in it, ordered the lighter weight nylon which is supposed to blow better in light wind.

My flags are either 3’x5’9” or 4’x7’7”, I can’t remember which nor can I remember where I bought them. They are the proper 1:1.9 width to length ratio though.

I'll have to try them for my next replacement. I only fly true-ratio US flags (1:1.9) and they appear to offer them.

NFD - New Flag Day
Got my aflag flags in yesterday. Added some new rigs to the lead & got them adjusted/hung.
Really didn't notice how faded the old flags were until unboxing these crisp new ones.

IIRC on Ft. Sill, Okla ( early 1970"s) on the post headquarters flag pole the 3 flag sizes flown differed day to day depending on events of the day... 5 ft x 9 1/2ft (normal daily)........ 10ft x 18ft ..... or possibly 20ft x 36ft (national holidays or possible retirement cerimonies / general rank officers).... Now when the 20x36 was flown that takes one massive flag pole to support that weight and wind load. .... Just love to see any size of "Old Glory" waving proudly in the wind. God bless the USA. ............................. drill sgt.

• Garrison Flag: This type of flag is one of the largest American Flags used on special occasions. The US Garrison Flag measures 20 foot hoist by 38 foot fly.
• Post Flag: Traditionally, post flags are used to simply identify a military post and symbolize the location and significance of a location in which the US military has established camp. The US Post Flag measures 8 foot 11 3/8 inches hoist by 17 foot fly.
• Field Flag: The US Field Flag measures 6 foot 8 inches hoist by 12 foot fly and is flown when distinguished guests are present.
• Storm Flag: Like the name indicates, storm flags are hung when there is a storm over the military post. The US storm warning flag measures 5-foot hoist by 9 foot 6 inches fly.
• Internment Flag: Also known as burial flags, these are used to honor and show respect to fallen soldiers and veterans during the funeral. The US Interment Flags measure 5 foot hoist by 9 foot 6 inches fly and are typically made of cotton material.
• Color Flags: Various sectors of the military and their officials are represented by colors that differentiate them from others.
• Distinguished Flags: Used to mark where high ranking officers or military headquarters are located.
