My brother used to run the Guitar Center in Hollywood. One day B.B. came in and announced “Lucille is sick.“ My brother took the guitar, looked down the neck and saw a wowwy. He took back and tweaked the truss rod. Happy ending.

I often refer to my pickup as the "danger ranger".

In the same spirit, the truck I'm looking at buying now will likely be the "trouble taco".

Not generally, but I worked in a shop where we had an ancient WWII surplus Norton cylindrical grinder I named "The Antichrist". It hates me - The in-feed controls go between "instantly slam into the part" and "just sit there". I tried making friends with it by repairing parts of it but it still only works for one person.

I call my guitar Les Paul. Funnily enough, the name was already on the headstock when I got it, so that was convenient. Aside from that, not really. Wink

Used to name my guns after I killed something with them. Didn't engrave it in them or anything, more like a term of endearment.

Only if I stumble on it and injure an extremity. Then said object gets a vulgar name.

In early 2017, I scored an awesome deal on a FDE framed P220 thanks to Sigforum. I named it "Trump".

Later that year, I got a P220 Legion. I named it "Also Trump".

I don't give them a name per se but every truck I have ever owned has been a "her" as has my tractor. Smile

My vehicle at work, that was broke down as often as it was running, was known as The Rickety Ranger.

Most of my possession are nameless, but 4 of my firearms do have names. My first full-auto is a HK-51 .308 with an 8.9" barrel. One of my buddies called it "Baby", so "Baby" she is. My next full-auto is a HK-51K (.308 with a 4.7" barrel) -- my Best Friend called it "Baby Too", and it stuck. My other full-auto is a CAR-15, and to stay in the same vein I named it "Babette". And I have a Seville stainless SA revolver in .357 Maximum that I call "Max".

Nothing else I own has earned an appellation.

Nope, can't say I've ever really named a possession of mine. Unless it has a pulse, it doesn't need a name.

You guys are gonna love this

Daisy, Dad's long time deer rifle. Rem 721 270
Maggie, Dad's 300 Wby he got from Roy himself
Smokepole, 378 Wby
Paint, Win 70 270 (pre64 of course) so worn and faded, Dad "painted" the metal. Paint shot 3" groups at 500 yards.
Trigger, Dad's Colt Coltsman 223. I still have Trigger.
Douggie, Dad's 358 Win 70 FW that was still in grease. Named after Doug H who was Chief of Police locally.

Then there was Peter the Case bulldozer. Named Peter as Gordon a family friend like playing with it.
And "Peter Built", the truck to haul Peter. Peter Built was actually a Peterbuilt truck.

There is more like three 56 Chrysler 300B's named Bertha, Blackie, and Buehler. Blackie was the black one. Blackie had been a past rum runner as ther was a trap door mechanism in the trunk that was solenoid powered to drop nails on the road. And there was a still active hidden switch under the dash to black out all the rear running lights.

There are still more. But it is late and I need my beauty sleep. So I will get up from this large very old leather chair. This chair is like 60+ years old, red, and named "Big Red"

Yes I do, I clicked the wrong icon and was too lazy to go back and delete it. Sloppy of me, sorry.

“The Virgin Mary” might be a better name.

After one burst I bet people say “Holy Mother of God!”

Actually, "Baby" may be flashier than "Baby Too". Here's "Baby" (8.9"):
