Thank you Very little |
Yellow Dog Eats Took a nice 20 mile ride over with a friend to the Gotha location, Gotha is a small former farm town on the outskirts of our fair city, at one time it would have been a nice country ride, alas, the city has grown, so its a bit of a metro ride and some country. We crossed Orlando on local streets, back roads as much as possible and avoided as many main streets as possible. Hit the majority of the lights in the 20 mile route. I'll have to find a better way, could have taken the toll roads, quicker, easier, but boring. Fired up a road cigar, hooked up the Amazon iPhone app to Five Finger Death Punch and rolled out. 80 degree weather clear, and 6:30 traffic for the most wasn't difficult. Once we got outside of Gotha the roads went back to two lanes, for about 3 miles LOL. Still all in all a good evening ride. It's housed in an old road house built in 1910, and the building has been re-purposed into this restaurant. Out back is a covered open air patio with bar, tables and small band area, solo performer was crooning as we arrived to her voice and the smell of smoking meats. They offer lots of different beers, wines, two bars, several types of BBQ sandwich from simpled pulled pork on a bun with slaw and chips to some pretty wild combinations. I chose the Blu Suede Shoes version of the pork sandwich, Tender pulled pork topped with tangy bleu cheese dressing, pecan smoked bacon, scallion and red onions with Gold BBQ sauce. It was really good, the pork well cooked tender and tasty. They have about 20 other versions I'll have to ride back over to try, along with chicken, beef, ribs, even an extensive vegitarian menu that will allow my wife to eat there. Dogs are allowed and there is a house cat as well. Trendy, yeah, a bit on the millineal edge, yeah, we're the two old guys on Harleys with grey hair and packing, there was a prevalence of man buns, skinny jeans and t-shirts in the staff, but they were working hard and the food was good, nobody gave us the stink eye for being the old guys.... Fired up the bikes, lit a post bbq cigar, turned on some tunes and had a nice ride home through downtown O-Town that was cooler and less traffic. Still, a butt load of traffic lights... Yellow Dog Eats is excellent. They make their own sangria, and that is excellent, too. "I vowed to myself to fight against evil more completely and more wholeheartedly than I ever did before. . . . My old shooting spot, and location for 3 or 4 sigforum shoots wasn't far from there. Unfortunately, that 300 acre field is now a thousand or so houses. I don't have a shoot spot near there any more... "I vowed to myself to fight against evil more completely and more wholeheartedly than I ever did before. . . .
