Rousey has it right, and it is simple, first semester microeconomics. There is less demand for women's sports. So it pays less.

Of course a lot of athletes didn't take first semester microeconomics, so . . .

Maybe it isn't "fair" (in some mushy kum-by-yah kind of way) that people prefer to watch men's sports for the most part, but that is the way it is.

I doubt it’s a class thing. Women’s sports are comparatively slower and less dynamic than men’s sports. Unless there’s an element that men can’t provide that women can, like beach volleyball, men’s sports will always sell more tickets and drive more revenue. It distills to money. Men’s sports produce more money so the athletes get more of it. So the bumper sticker should not read: equal pay for equal work. It should read: equal pay for equal production.

The men's sports probably. Charge more for tickets, charge more for advertising, etc.

Fortunately, I don't do sports so I won't be funding this idiocy.
