First off, my apologies for the extra, super, grande, sized photos, size might be relevant. I found this out in the woods near a stream bottom that was along side one of the old US Route 66 alignments. Looking online, I see several desirable 1920's pennies. Should I bother cleaning it up to read the date or just chuck it in the "collecting" jar (the collecting jar is not the same as the truck console)? If worth cleaning, how?

Cleaning coins lower their value. Again if you cannot read the date it is probably not worth much since coins are graded on their condition.
