That was the sound the Villager made when air was getting between the trim and the windshield rubber gasket...it would stop when you would go through a heavy rain, only to start back when it dried out...I guess water altered the airflow. Anyway, the use of the silicon between the top of the aluminum trim where there were gaps between it and the body. There were several places the liquid silicon ran down behind the trim onto the windshield...these were the areas that were letting the air go under and out causing the whistle...it took a couple of applications to seal it off.

The sound is pretty similar to that (not quite as bad) - but it only happens when there's a strong crosswind.
