Have no clue what it means and if it’s available in my neck of the woods. My TVs are 10 YO , the first Samsung series with LAN port, no built in WIFI, not SMART. Noticed both my TV sets and my router support IpTV/Vlan and i wonder if there’s an improvement there i’m ignoring. Since the TV are as dumb as the owner, i stream using a second gen Chromecasts. Someone willing to enlight me? Thanks 0-0 "OP is a troll" - Flashlightboy, 12/18/20

Don't think it's worth worrying too much about the details. https://www.uscreen.tv/blog/what-is-iptv/ I never really heard of the term IPTV too much or didn't pay attention to it. Seems it is how set-top boxes deploy Netflix and whatever. VLANS on the other hand is quite different and a well know protocol for isolating subnets. I would say since your TV is not that new aka smart TV - just use your devices for streaming and you will be fine. I guess you (me) can always learn something and if this is something to be concerned about someone can chime it.

Thank you Steve, During my younger audio/stereo days, i couldn’t leave alone unused inputs and outputs. Had to buy another recorder or device to make use of everything. Guess some of this still remains, leave no options unexplored. 0-0 "OP is a troll" - Flashlightboy, 12/18/20
