Fire/water rated safe suggestions
I’m looking for opinions for a safe to store important documents in. Hanging file folder or slightly larger. I’d really like to know what to stay away from. This will be kept in master BR or it’s closet. It’s a typical blue collar area, nothing that screams gold coins and rare stamps so my primary concern is fire/water protection. What do you like and dislike?

Fire rated, yes, but not sure I've ever heard of water rated safes.

I should have mentioned that a digital keypad lock would be my preference. Thanks in advance.

12131 yes, I believe it’s mostly for keeping out water from fire hoses.

When I worked at Dicks sporting goods many years ago we used to sell Stack On safes. As far as I remember we sold some that were rated for fire and water proof to a certain extent. I would double check to see if they still manufacture any that are.

It might be a better idea to look for a waterproof container to store inside a safe. Maybe even a 5- gallon bucket would work for papers.
