I have said before, but if I could curb stomp any disease Alzheimer’s is #2 on my list. RIP Wichita Lineman.

Glenn's musical carrier was well underway by the time I was born. The same year I was born he played the first concert at Market Square Arena in Indianapolis, which ironically was where Elvis played his last.

My step dad got to watch him and a yet known Beach Boys when he lived in California.

My mother always had country music on in the car and Rhinestone Cowboy is the first song I can remember hearing from Glenn. Hearing his music over the years was a big reason why I became a country music fan. When I became teen, and able to afford my own cds, his was one of the first I bought.

Many obituaries overlook Campbell's talents as a musician, by giving him passing notice as a session player.

To others, he was a guitar giant. Some here have already alluded to his influence on the guitar playing world.

Here is a clip of some of his soloing work.

You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.

Rhinestone cowboy is one of the songs I sang to myself while inside the belly of the Big E out on West Pac.

RIP.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Another version of Wichita Lineman, live in 1985. It really showcases the ease with which he commanded a guitar.

Glen Campbell's first hit song- Turn Around, Look at Me. I never knew this until recently, but he actually co-wrote this song.
