I remember, and it was proper--professionals did not advertise or troll for clients--they were sought when the need arose. The current situation is NOT an improvement.
There's been some ambulance chaser types running a TV ad that stated if you have Parkinsons Disease and someone sprayed Paraquat a half a city block away from you, "you may be eligible for significant compensation".

There is an accident lawyer in this area on many billboards. Depending on the neighborhood, his image is lightened or darkened. I've noticed it for years and have no doubt it is intentional.
On a tangent, I've seen billboard ads for vietnamese lawyers beginning two or three years ago.
It's notable that the sons and daughters of vietnamese, cambodian, etc. refugees have started to climb the economic class ladder from their parents working at nail salons and donut shops.
