x0225095Heading to Bozeman in June...what to do?
Heading to Bozeman in June on our way to a ranch we visit each year. Never been through Bozeman, however, as we have always approached the ranch from Billings.
Suggestions as to what to do for a couple of days, eat, drink, etc...
thanks

FN in MTBuy over priced , chic outdoor clothing from several of the overpriced shops on Main street?
Visit the Museum of the Rockies.
Go to Selway Armory west end of Main , a SIG Master Dealer.
Head on down to Yellowstone NP?

The Rockin' R ain't the Rockin' R anymore.
After it blew up they rebuilt it into something that doesn't even remotely resemble the R bar of the old days. Hipster millennials might like it, but that's about it.
The Crystal and the Hofbrau still are reminiscent of the way they used to be though.

bendablein june , skip and Shell ( out in four corners)
will be pulling the old fence posts out of the old Rimsill place.
but thats only going to take a couple of hours.
they would probably offer you a schlitz or three if you offered to roll up the woven wire.
unless they get started to late and it gets too hot.
they cut down the three catalpa shade trees ,
and shell won't drink in the bright sun shine.
Don't ask her about that , as she'll go in to the whole tubing on the river story

ChuckWallIf you have time, may I suggest:
Rushmore in SD, then to Deadwood or Devil's Tower to Sheridan and Cody.
Head through Livingston to Little Bighorn and Pompey's Pillar to Billings. Then to Bozeman. And, if time allows, Butte.

Devil's Tower

Skull LeaderI enjoyed just walking the downtown area. Stop in and have a Montana Mule at Bozeman Spirits. Or if beer is more of your thing, White Dog Brewing Company is right next door.
I also suggest Museum of the Rockies.

2000Z-71Head down to Virginia City, the original capitol of the Territory of Montana and learn why Montana state troopers still have the numbers 3-7-77 on their shoulder patches.

I've been told by many of them that even
they don't know.
It seems the last guy to know what in the hell it really means died about a hundred years ago.
