pulicordsNYT - The Constitution is Anti-Democratic and Outdated
Change the Constitution? Like maybe do something about that inconvenient First Amendment/Freedom of the Press thing where a Mexican National billionaire like say Carlos Slim can foist propaganda on us after buying a newspaper like say the New York Times and directing it to sell us some BS that ends up lining his pockets at the expense of American citizens? Yea, right. Let's do something about that.

Gee, I'm sorry your hag lost, but that is the entire point of the United States constitutional structure; prevent a few population centers from dominating the rest of the citizenry.
Bingo, that was my exact thought when I read the first sentence and stopped right there. What do they think the constitution was written for? Moron.

PASigThese people have always hated the Constitutuon as it gets in their way too much.
Recall Obama talking about what he could accomplish had it not been for that pesky document?
They’ve always been this way, they are just getting bolder about telling us what they really think.

Probably a moot point as they wouldn't likely survive the experience.

I'm not so sure. They don't reach relic status until they've been buried in the desert sand for 3,254 years, and even then, they aren't outdated, their newly discovered relics.

Ugh! It's a feature... not a bug!
What you call "subversion of democracy" ... well PHPaul already said it:

If you substitute "prevention" for "subversion"...that's exactly right.
The United States is not, never has been, and hopefully never will be a "democracy" you ignorant twatwaffle.
Pure Democracy was recognized as dangerous and short lived because it offers no protection to private property.
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I don't mind being a relic, but outdated?
And yes the Constitution is undemocratic in some ways. The Senate is not proportional. Requiring super majorities to amend it is not democratic. Putting some decisions (to limit speech, for example) beyond the power of government is also undemocratic.
They, quite wisely I think, decided that some things should not be subject to the whim or will of a mere 50.01% of the vote.
