State sponsored voter suppression
Had no problem in my county, some poll workers are just volunteers. The one taking our temperature was a volunteer.
Not sure about the one checking our license.
I can ask because I know the guy who runs that.
I do know that he has two primary helpers, one a Dem and one a Rep.

OK, we're a pretty populous county and generously have 2 whole polling places. I was incorrect and didn't realize there was one down in Independence, near the Gulf of Mexico for me. Still a long drive. The one up here near civilization is in the new courthouse, aka the old brewery building. Guess I should stop complaining and just be glad I don't live in Erlanger or someplacee not even near one. History has been that even hte smaller cities and towns had at least one. It'll be interesting to discover how many ballots have been cast compared to prior years.

I'm pretty sure Thursday won't see many folks standing in the parking lot waiting, The Hurricane is due and this one will come with both wind and rain. Still a populous county and I'm miffed the powers decided we only needed 1 place up here where most folks live. It still seems government isn't for the convenience of the people/voters. Its for their own convenience.

I'm not sure how many stations are open here at the moment, just moved up this way a couple months ago, but we were able to use a different location probably due to early voting.

Didn't have to deal with cold drizzle either, being its the mosquito sunshine state and all. The older gal who chatted me up the whole time in line had my son concerned though. Big Grin

Go Vote!
If you think this is bad... Joe Biden has a whole lot more government 'convenience' headed your way. Wait until he gets his 'public option' on your healthcare....
Vote Trump, while you still can!

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

In my county they have 4-5 drop off locations. They told you on the local news channel to expect a longer wait than going in person on election day.

I cant figure out why you would want to wait in a longer line. The one location in downtown is on the 6th floor of a building so you have to park in the garage next door for $14.

Some people, including my parents, want to vote early because they are afraid that if they get sick they won't be able to vote on election day.

Some of us prefer to put out ballots right into the machine, vs trusting our votes on the future of the country in a box under someone else's hands...
