Does Mitch McConnell need to step down?
This is sad, elder abuse in my opinion.
As bad as Biden was at times, this is much worse (and recent).
Can anyone say he made an informed decision when voting recently?
His staff/handlers need to be subject to an ethics complaint or more.

Step down now? The governor of KY is a Dem. You know what that means.

Oh, he knew damn well what he was doing. To spite Trump.

He voted against Trump's guy in the confirmation hearing anyway. Same as a Democrat would do.

Yeah, but can you say that he will vote with the Dems on every single issue from now on? You base your position on a single "No" vote of his. On the other hand, a new Dem senator from KY will guarantee a loss of GOP vote going forward. That's just how Dems are.

KY is interesting because the Governor has to pick a member of the same party from a list of 3 qualified candidates supplied by the KY Republican or Democratic committees that currently control the seat. If Mitch steps down the democratic governor can not choose a Democrat to fill Mitch’s seat.

I totally agree. Cognitive-wise, he is nowhere near as bad as Biden is, to compare the two is farfetched. Yes, as displayed in the video above (which is from early last year), he had moments of brain freeze, but in the video below, from a couple of months ago, he is coherent, able to clearly answer random questions from the press.

^^^ @ dking271,

I stand corrected. This is a relatively new law that passed in 2021, according to AXIOS.

quote:
How it works: A Republican committee would have the power to choose three candidates to replace McConnell.

- Then, the state's governor, Andy Beshear (D-Ky.), would appoint one of their three picks as a temporary replacement, per Kentucky Senate Bill 228, passed in 2021. A special election would follow.

- The GOP legislature changed this law during Beshear's time in office, overriding his veto with a supermajority.

- The Kentucky governor had historically had power to replace a senator, whether from resignation, death or expulsion.

When the politicians who prop up these severely brain impaired, to drag them in for a vote, are charged with elder abuse it will be for the better.

It's not "brain freeze" it's motor function freeze.
He is still aware and cognizant, he just cannot move.

It's known as Akinesia.

Let him run out his term and let's get the good people of Kentucky to start working on the best replacement for this Republic.

No, he should not. Andy Beshear May only be able to choose from a list of three, but Soros will decide who he chooses on that list.

Is that what you guys want?

The only difference between Beshear and AOC or Cori Bush is that Beshear conceals his agendas well, so much so that many consider him to be a moderate. He’s a Soros leftist communist. He sent the state police to churches during COVID after 4 years of accusing Matt Bevin of violating the Constitution. He’s in a deep red state and he’s successful because he conceals his agendas well enough and hopes people forget yesterday. His state police commissioner went on TV and stated he supported gun confiscation when he was under Queen Andy’s daddy.

Do you want successful republicans to put his successor in place in a primary, or do you want Soros to hang us with the lesser of evils?

I didn't know that either. This makes the issue even more clear, if they don't lose a R vote.

The issue for me is the Republicans need to show some spine and do what's right some times to separate themselves from the Democrats.

I too was unaware of that law. However, the Demokrats pick and choose what laws they follow. What's to stop Beshear from appointing a fellow Dem?

What I’d love to see is Soros limo struck by a hellfire missile that nobody seems to know where it came from. Preferably with his vermin son in it as well. That would solve a lot of global issues…

According to this new law, the REPUBLICANS pick the list of three (I would hope a fellow Republican) and the Governor picks one of the three.
Later there is a special election.

I think you may be missing the point. Beshear has demonstrated that laws and the Constitution do not apply to him.

The last time he violated the Constitution, he was smacked down by the KY Supreme Court. But, it took them 14 months to do so.

Assuming the courts will save us on this is foolish. He has nothing to lose and everything to gain going rogue. He is a lame duck Governor that can’t run for another term.

McConnell IS the Deep State. No one remembers how the Republican Congress did nothing in Trump’s first term?

Mitch’s singular accomplishment in the last ten years was to deny Obama a Supreme Court seat, and give Trump a Supreme Court seat. That is all. Anyone in his position could have done that. And they could have passed substantive legislation to support Trump. Didn’t happen.

McConnell supported all the wrong R candidates in Alaska.

During the election season, every time Kakkles babbled about being unburdened by what has come before, it was McConnell's portrait popping into my head. We may not be unburdened by this toad yet but the cliff is in sight and he's picking up speed.
