It’s spring here and that means two weeks of tons of dropping live oak leaves
Followed by a few weeks of high pollen counts and a nice yellow coating on everything

Needless to say allergy remedies are in high demand

This is looking out the windshield of my truck after two days sitting out in the drive
It’s a black truck notice the nice yellow coating on the hood

The pollen was ten times worse up in the ATL! Not so bad down in this neck of the woods.

Light rain yesterday; pollen mud.

I always heard the yellow pollen was too big to trigger humans allergic reactions, but that if you saw it, there was just a higher chance that other pollens and allergens were high as well.

I remember as a kid in NC, after a short burst of rain, I'd always find small piles of the yellow pollen under all the drain spouts to the house. Usually it was a thick paste (your pollen mud) which then eventually dried back into a powder. We used to play in it.

I cut the yard on Friday afternoon, and when I hit the driveway and road in front of our house with the backpack blower, my wife said she could hardly see me from just inside the house. No wonder my nose has been plugged up all weekend.

HRK - look on the bright side. The front of your truck could have been covered with acidic body fluids from love bugs!

I live in Jacksonville. The oak pollen is in full dispersion, but after having lived in Louisville for most of my life. Allergy issues in FL are child's play compared with the spring time air quality in the Ohio River Valley.

Just moved to the Atlanta area from South Texas so I understand the live oaks dropping leaves and yellow pollen.

What was worse for me was the juniper pollen, mountain cedar as it was was referred to.

No live oaks in my yard here in Alpharetta.

Since the hurricane last August, where I am in Delray Beach, we lost most all of our tall trees. Up-side is very little yellow on the cars this year & less allergy.
Though the frogs have been croaking just fine...
