PHPaulWell, stroke my warm fuzzies! Two totally unexpected benefits.
1. I got fed up with rate increases with my current (and long-standing @ 40+ years) insurance company and had an independent agent see what they could do. They wound up saving me $650 a year on the truck and car. Nice! However, when they went to pay the premium with a check I sent them, the new company (Travelers) had reduced the premium ANOTHER $100/year from the original quote. WOOHOO!
2. I'd just finished weed-whacking and was picking up hoses and such preparing to mow the lawn when a complete stranger pulled in the driveway, rolled down his window and said "I just wanted to tell you that you have the nicest yard in town."
Now I'll grant you, that's not a particularly lofty hurdle, but it's still very gratifying to hear.

newtoSig765I'd stay clear of Travelers. I got hit by a kid some years back, Travelers would only pay about $2,200 to repaint part of the back end and a couple days' car rental.
In fact, he hit me so hard that he bent the frame and damaged the transmission. The car was totaled. It was a Mercedes C320.
