My Time is Yours |
Am I late to the party? We use soda plenty but never thought of purchasing a Soda Stream. Your thoughts if you own one. God, Family, Country.

We have one for making sparkling water, some of their fruit syrups are decent for adding a small amount to a glass of sparkling water but the soda flavor syrups were pretty disappointing. I have a food grade paintball bottle with a special brass adapter to mimic a Sodastream CO2 bottle, it’s like $3 a fill up vs $15 for the exchange bottle.

I was all set to jump and get one off Amazon but reviews were kinda bad. They suggested a recent decline in quality control and parts breakage. I passed. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

A CO2 bottle with the adapter is way way cheaper to do the same job. I have sparkling water on tap all the time and it can be flavored with any fruit juice or soda flavoring.

Like a party in your pants |
I use mine all the time, making just carbonated water.

I like mine. I used it to get off of drinking regular soda. I just carbonate water and add fresh lemon or lime juice and it statisfies me without any sugar or fake sweeteners. These go to eleven.

I can't answer for downtownnv, but I have a thought on this. I think the popularity of the soda stream has waned quite a bit. Many people bought them for the kids and used them to make their own knock off version of popular soda. But at this point the novelty has worn out, the soda isn't the same and the fad is gone. But for those of us that have a very good reason to want carbonated water available it's still a great little appliance to have available. As I mentioned, for the lemon soda water I make (okay and the occasional vodka/soda. These go to eleven.

For real? |
I have one. I used it for about a year. It’s sitting on the bar rarely used now. I always had two cans so when one ran out, I didn’t need to get to the store for a refill immediately. We’ve transitioned away from carbonated beverages. Not minority enough!

The novelty for them has gone away and only a very limited market still uses them. Basically people that like carbonated water with a splash of fruit only. Mainly because all of their soda flavors (the clientele sodastream tried to market to and capture) sucked in taste compared to coke/Pepsi etc.
