My better half has an Oticon hearing aid that takes 312 batteries. She has tried the Duracell brand and doesn't get very good performance. Does anyone have any recommendations for other brands? The Power One brand gets good reviews. Haven't tried those yet.

What do you mean by not very good performance? I usually get about 2 1/2 days off my 312 batteries, less if I use the telephone or music option to Bluetooth from my phone. I like Costco batteries for the hearing aids.

I wear Oticon hearing aids that use 312 batteries. I usually get 6-7 days from Duracells & a bit less than that from Energizers. Mine are about 10 years old though, without Bluetooth or any of the new features, which probably draw a battery down faster. ------------------------------------------------ "It's hard to imagine a more stupid or dangerous way of making decisions, than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong." Costco, about .15 a battery. Mine last a week

Another vote for the Costco batteries. I get about 5 days out of them and they’re the lowest price I’ve found. “Government exists to protect us from each other. Where government has gone beyond its limits is in deciding to protect us from ourselves.” ― Ronald Reagan Retired old fart

Costco for batteries. Battery life varies from one model of hearing aid to another. My Oticon hearing aid batteries lasted 6-7 days (312). My Costco hearing aid (Resound) last 4-5 days with same 312 batteries. Using Bluetooth or mifi (apple) connectivity will run down batteries faster. I never found one battery to be superior to another. Buy in bulk and save. Just did a quick calculation. I have gone through over 800 batteries to date!

Just a thought, when you take the tab off the battery, do you let them sit for a few minutes before putting them in the hearing aid? I read an article a few weeks ago that explained it helps them attain a full charge. If you look carefully you can see the air holes once the tab is removed. From the Starkey hearing aid info: “1. Let the battery "breathe" for 3-5 minutes. After removing the tab from the battery, let the battery sit for 3-5 minutes before installing it in your hearing aid. This "activation" time allows air to reach the materials inside the battery and activate them.” Can’t hurt to give it a try.

800/2=400 * 5 = 2000 minutes. Nah I’ll just stick them in the aids now.

It isn't so much a life issue as some of them just don't plain work when installed. The "breathe" recommendation sounds interesting. She does use the iPhone connection feature for streaming directly to the ear for phone calls.

My hearing aids use 312 batteries. I get the batteries from Costco: a card of 48 batteries (four dispensers on the card, each containing 12 batteries) is $8.49, or just under 18 cents / battery. No sales tax on this type of merchandise here in Florida. I insert new batteries once or twice a week. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

Is the wife on the phone a LOT? Mine aren’t Bluetooth capable, (too old), batteries last a week. (Rayovac) And yes if they aren’t allowed to be activated by air they don’t last as long. It’s only 1 minute. I’d use the Costco ones but always forget to put them on the shopping list. -------- After the game, the King and the pawn go into the same box.

I use the bluetooth feature on mine occasionally too. Battery life drops from about 6 days to around 3.

You can also hold them between thumb and forefinger for about a minute, that will do the "activation" thing. Only 400 minutes now!

I use the Costco batteries as well. I don't pay close attention, but I'd say I get 5-7 days from one. _____________________________________________________________________ “One of the common failings among honorable people is a failure to appreciate how thoroughly dishonorable some other people can be, and how dangerous it is to trust them.” – Thomas Sowell

Costco batteries last 5-7 days depending on time worn and how much I have Bluetooth turned on. Cheap too. I let them breathe for the recommended 3-5 minutes.

I have Kirkland 8.0 hearing aids. Batteries I've tried; Kirkland (costco), Amazon, Power one, and now Duracell. The Amazon and Kirkland lasted 6-7 days, the others a little less. I always pull the tab and let mine air out 5-10 minutes.

I use 312s for my aids as well. I get about the same 2.5 days per set. I don't use the aids for anything but boosting my hearing. Thanks to 9 years in the 3 Armored Division! LOTS of really loud noises W/O benefit of ear protection. I use Costco's batteries as well as their best aids.
