Speaking of publix. They are not installing scales in new stores and not replacing broken ones in existing stores. First they get rid of hurricane cakes and now this ? If they weren’t the closest pharmacy, I’d never darken their doors. Good service and quality meat and veggies Vs others. But that’s it.

Have they ever contacted you on a recalled product?

I’m sure they can but I doubt they do. The recall is between the end customer and the manufacturer, presumably the source of the issue. I doubt their lawyers will say yes, get yourself in the middle of that process because if the store ever forgets or misses contacting a customer, then that exposes them.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Sorry for the late reply but just saw this.

Yes, retailers have contacted me over a product recall.
There is no more exposure to the retailer than they already have. They are in the “chain of commerce” as the seller. Everyone from the manufacturer on is exposed.
It’s the “shotgun” approach to filing product related lawsuits.
The only bad part is the notification usually comes after the product was consumed. Only one was still in the freezer.

Just wait a few years until AI is deeply involved in "customer management." I predict an explosion in proliferation of marketing cross contact information processing, etc. And the Matrix never forgets. The time to start paying cash for everything was 20 years ago.
