My wife and I are discussing her response. I thought it was very effective for the intended audience--people much younger than we are, and people who don't really follow politics; but especially women.

She nailed it. Considering Biden’s speech, A speech full of hate, anger, revenge, and retribution? Biden unironically ends his speech with: "Hate, anger, revenge, retribution are the oldest of ideas, but you can't lead America with ancient ideas”. Wtf?

I like Katie Britt! Was not 100% sure about her when I voted for her, but had a really good gut feeling. My gut seems to have been right so far... these days you just never know.

I concur with her message but her delivery is for shit.
Some, not all but some, women feel like they get more traction if they are emoting. Just on the verge of or actually crying. Maybe it is just how she talks but she seemed very nearly about to cry.
I fucking hate that. You are a leader. I need you to lead, not cry or appear "weak" which crying seems weak. Not everyone will agree but I prefer strength to emotion (crying).

I liked her message. Very few people stuck around to watch it.

Trump had some very positive things to say about her response. She is supposedly on the short list for VP. I'm not the first person to say this, but Trump likes to surround himself with attractive women. She checks off that box. (Side note - Trumps attorney Alina Habba was asked if being an attractive female had anything to do with her selection as Trump's attorney. She said yes.)

I stayed for the whole message. I agree with her points.
I suspect she spent a lot of time rehearsing her speech to come off like that and I believe it was deliberate and intentional.
I think people here should be okay that she wasn't relating to you, you're going to vote for Trump anyway. She is reaching out to people like her who are iffy about Trump - the suburban housewives who's been influenced to not like Trump's brashness.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

The best response to Biden’s speech was Biden’s speech itself. Bitter, he insulted all the Supreme Court members and Congress, even CNN was fact checking many of his claims, and he had many senior moments.

I mostly agree, I could only stand to watch about 45 seconds of her talking. However, you and I were not the intended audience for her delivery. We're already voting Trump, and while her delivery was cringe it doesn't impact me. But somewhere out there is a NH voter who may possibly be swayed towards the R ticket after watching Old Man Yells at Clouds versus that weird half cry rebuttal. Both were theater and neither were for us.

Pretty sure you are correct arabiancowboy. This forum's members are not who she is trying to reach. We're there. I think her approach is as effective as can be. Nobody is going to remember this in November. Then the tax, war, border stuff will come into play.
