It was a scheduled test, my second I believe since I had stents a couple years ago. It was fine I believe, I try to excersize as much as possible. I was the only one that I saw doing the treadmill, most everybody else had to have the drugs to speed up their heart rate. I would not even mention it here, but a situation in the waiting room caught my attention. In between phases, I had to go out to the waiting room, it was full. I had a seat, in the soon to be the next to the last seat. An older gentlemen and his wife walked in and he had her sit in the last seat. He was probably late 80s, most likely 90s, he had a WWII veteran hat on. I'm middle 50s, and there were plenty of men and women obviously younger than me sitting. I waited about 10 seconds to see if anyone younger was going to get up. Nobody did, so I did. I asked him to take my seat and he tried to put up a fight but took it. I waited about 10 minutes and another seat opened and sat. I just couldn't believe any of the younger folk didn't do it or even look sheepish when I did. That's my rant for the day. I wish I had had time to hear stories from him.

I see that at the airport quite frequently. I’m always amazed at the lack of compassion and caring for the elderly.

Good on the OP.

Most people in waiting rooms have their nose buried in the phone and wouldn't notice if Kate Upton walked in buck nekkid.

Doubly bad are the selfish people who take up a 2nd seat for a purse/bag when the waiting room is full.

Today I was on the way to the gym about 9 A.M.,in the Jeep on icy streets. Our public library has an addition at the back, lower level entrance, together with a front entrance, above ground level. To explain better, the lower is an add on, the building is a 1903 Carnegie Library.

Anyway, an older lady (I'm no kid either) is starting to go down the sidewalk. I offered to return her book but she worked there. So at least I waited to leave until she went inside in case she slipped on the ice.

I took a spill on my own sidewalk four years ago, cost me a shoulder rebuild. Don't wish that on anybody.

Most, not all, but most people are self absorbed and generally suck. So I hear ya.
What you did in that situation is the first thing that comes into my mind. Should be the same for just about everyone else. For men especially.
