Or, perhaps, terrorism. I haven't seen it mentioned with regard to these fires, but I remember some years back that the threat was made to start fires in the western US.
^^^ WW2. The Japanese sent balloons over. They actually started a fire or two and had a fatality IIRC.

The don't call it the land of fruits and nuts for nothing. Progressive retarded Governor, followed by retarded officials, retarded policies, retarded consequences. I think this is a shining example of how utterly seriously bad things can get by voting for and appointing truly stupid and narcissistic people to positions of real responsibility. It's that simple, and pretty insane how often it's repeated in those areas of California. I saw an interview with some city counsel type vice chair of one of the communities on fire, and the best solution he gave was to make sure people like Trump never get into office because they don't support a climate change agenda. THAT interview showed me how clearly brainwashed and stupid that community leader was, and how many in that part of the state are exactly of the same mind, without wavering, no matter how many fires or crime or stupid things the citizens of California suffer. And when he is re-elected, it will be because his constituents will still believe the exact same stuff no matter what happens. In this case they will double down on their insanity, not realizing the problem that they didn't clear the brush, build better road access, and pump water to the fire hydrants. I call that Stupid 101. Ron White nailed that one, and in this case it's not funny.

To me, it is not enough that he will just be unable to run for president in 2028. That's nothing. He should be hanged. Or hung. Whatever. Just get 13 feet of hemp rope, and a stout limb. We can argue the grammar when he has stopped kicking.

Why? It's on topic and no brain cells would be harmed.
So we can have two discussion threads on the same topic...
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Regarding the DEI crap in the LAFD, public utilities, etc: I am of the opinion that when people take their eye off the ball and chase fireflies and unicorns, they are bound to miss big things. And they did.
Like reservoirs.
There's video and pictures of arcing power lines from the wind where at least two of the fires started.

I vote for Smokey Bear handing that shovel to the Governor (after he regains consciousness) and put him on the fire line with it.

If the insurance companies saw this coming, the government, LED BY NEWSOME, should have and taken action. I know, part of the reasons the insurance companies left was the government limited the rates they could charge, still, the risk wasn't worth it so they left.

It goes back even farther than that. The Japanese tried it with fire/bomb balloons in WWII.

Newsom claims there is a lot of "misinformation" out there about him and the fires, much like the commies and Covid. So this asshole sets up a website "california fire facts"
...and it has a button to click on to donate to the CA Fire Foundation. But this link sends one to ActBlue, which we all know is a Democrat fundraising org that sends dollars to commie causes at will.
So this scumbag is using the fires to bring in camapign donations. Sleeze is too kind of a word.

So, if anyone is interested, the Calfire prevention guides can be found here: https://www.fire.ca.gov/osfm/w...vention-field-guides These guides might help shed some light on what should be done to mitigate these risks?

Poetic justice would be his greasy hair catches fire and his staff put it out with carbon dioxide extinguishers, suffocating him to death.

True poetic justice would be his hair catching on fire and his staff, unable to quickly find water attempting to put out said fire with lacquer thinner.

Caterpillar v12 powered pumps; hoses and pipes; tankers; sprayers
I understand that that’s been discussed and rejected out of hand. The salt would be damaging to the plants that are burned up along with the homes embedded within the chamise veg type.

I’d imagine the pumps wouldn’t fare too well with the salinity either.

Marine motors can be cooled with salt water. It's damaging if left in the motor for long periods. It's best to rinse them with fresh water after use.

All BullShit arguments...Nothing wrong with using using seawater/saltwater to fight fires! It's actually done elsewhere, ALL THE TIME...Nothing else matters if they don't extinguish the fires!
