I wear boonie hats when in the sun. Not very ventilating but effective but always having the cool factor.

I have fully adopted the "outback" style hat. Still wear ball hats but an outback style is very protective and practical. Your hat is fine.

Well, that didn't take long, lol.
My oldest son (17) just got back from a weekend in Dallas helping my brother move. I had to work so I couldn't go but my brother bought him a plane ticket and flew him down to help. While he was there, he bought a straw cowboy hat.
I got a text from him yesterday..."Dad this thing is awesome. It's like it sucks air in right onto my head, and it cools me off!" Yup. That's what I told ya.
He flew with just a backpack, so he had to wear it back on the plane yesterday. Apparently some Asian family in the Dallas airport asked to take a picture with him yesterday. They said they were just travelling through on their way to Honolulu, but were excited for the chance to see a "real cowboy" while they were in Texas .

I used my $9 hat today working out in the yard for 5 hours in 100 degree heat and the Texas sun. I love the neck protector this hat has and my bald spot, face, and neck didn’t get burned at all.
