Tucker Carlson hosted Willie Wilson perennial candidate for mayor. Interesting guy. He said under his administration police would hunt down criminals like rabbits. He is black and wealthy through his own efforts.I doubt he has a chance but everyone in Chicago knows his name. Election is next month and Lightfoot is trailing badly.

Wilson was born the son of a sharecropper in Louisiana.[5]

Wilson completed a seventh grade education.[6][7]

Wilson later received an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Mt. Carmel Theological Seminary and an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from Chicago Baptist Institute International.[8]

Wilson left home at age thirteen, and began his working life earning twenty cents per hour working in cotton and sugar cane fields.[9]

Wilson lived for periods of time in Miami and New York City, before settling in Chicago in 1965.[9]

Wilson worked various jobs once he moved to Chicago, before being hired to mop floors and flip burgers at a McDonald's.[9] He worked his way up, being eventually promoted to manager, and later receiving a loan to become a McDonald's franchisee, thus starting his business career.[9

Ahhh... Willie.
As dumb as a box of rocks.

Ran for Mayor, lost
Ran for President, lost
Ran for Mayor, lost
Ran for Senate, lost
Ran for Governor, lost

Running for Mayor again, probably gonna loose.

He needs to stick with McDonalds.
Yes, he worked his way up in McDonalds, and did pretty good, but he's way over his head in politics.

I believe as of now there are 6 candidates running for Chicago Mayor.
Wilson sounds as dumb as a rock when interviewed.
He started his campaign months ago handing out a couple million dollars in free gas to primarily blacks on the west and south side of Chicago.
2 HONORARY degrees from black bible colleges translates to "Thanks for the big check Willie".
Like all Chicago politicians Willie and the others will say what that crowd they are addressing wants to hear.

In Chicago its about Blacks vs Hispanics, whites are not included.
There is one white candidate running, Paul Vallas. I would not vote for him on any other occasion but like usual here in Chicago he is my choice with my nose held firmly.

A very scary thing to do is to actually listen to what the candidates plans would be.

Mansion Tax.
Chicago income tax for those making $100,000 or more a year.
A bank owned and operated by the Chicago politicians ( this is NO joke)
$10,000 a year to 1000 Chicago residents
A reduction in money going to the police
Higher taxes for Hotels ( already the highest in the country)

The list goes on and on.

You can clearly see who is targeted by these proposals. The sad part is these voters outnumber the productive voters.

I saw Carlsons interview with Wilson. Zero political presence and a terrible speaker.

Have you ever heard of his competitor. It really is amazing in such a large city that these are the choices.

Might be down to only GOD fixing Chicago. Corruption is to the bone. Such a beautiful city.

I grew up around Grand Crossing, loved the city.

The 3rd largest city in the US, and the list of 6 candidates would be 1000x better by randomly picking names out of the phone book. Crazy.

I wouldn't want to be Mayor of Chi-town for any salary or power. Anybody who wants that job is automatically disqualified by reason of insanity.

OTOH, I might pay to see Jill Biden congratulate "Dr. Wilson."

To those native Chicagoans. Isn't there a Daly as a possibiltiy? Not that they are great, but they are better. I lived in Chicago when Richard J.was mayor.

I was that much dumber after listing to that as well.

Chicago, like many deep blue regions for 50+ years, we're seeing them scrape the bottom of the barrel for candidates. Idiots, fools and ideologues are all that remains who are ambitious enough to want to run for political office. You look at a place like Portland, where Ted Wheeler, was blasted and lambasted by everyone else in the country for his soft handling of Antifa riots in 2020, then you you saw the list of candidates competing for being mayor....smh Roll Eyes

You have to win with a majority—over 50% of the vote, so Vallas has a chance to make the runoff since the Black candidates will split Black vote, which means he has no chance in the run-off.

There was in the the 2019 election.
Bill Daley

And he can go fuck himself sideways too! He's one of the reasons we are in this situation with lightfoot.

Long story short- The Joyce Family, former Senator and a political powerhouse in the State & City. The kid, Jerry ran for mayor last go around.
So did Paul Vallas.

The ONLY reason Bill Daley jumped into that election is to fuck over Joyce.
The Joyce family and the Daley family HATE each other. A lot of the hate involves Lil Dick Daley screwing over (former) Senator Jeramiah Joyce in the concession contract (a multi-million dollar contract!) at the Chicago Airports.

Daley knew he'd steal votes from Joyce. Neither were smart enough, or were able to slow their ego down enough to do what was "best" for the City, and back out of the election. Then it all came down to preckwinkle and lightfoot. So we have a choice between a big giant douche (preckwinkle) and a turd sandwich (lightfoot). We got the turd sandwich.

If Bill Daley REALLY wanted to win that election, he would have gotten his old boss to put in a good word for him, maybe show up on a commercial or two...
Oh, Billy's last job was Chief of Staff under the Obama Admin, and this is Chicago...

Thanks for the update. I was in Chicago for the 1968 Democratic convention and the MLK riots. Left shortly after and things appear to have spiraled downward.

New Orleans has similar problems. After Mayor Cantrell took needless first class trips she stated that it was not safe for a black woman to ride in coach. She eventually reimbursed the city. The current deal is her open affair with her security detail on government time. She denies it happened even though there is video of the two coming and going from the apartment.
