I’d love to have that installed in front of my house. I get tired of it. Fucking neighbors. One more reason to go rural!

I need to do something similar for people that park in front of my property. At times, there can be five cars parked there with an occasional car parked in front of the mail box.

One time many years ago, the driveway was blocked and it was after 12AM and I needed to go to Walmart for some hay fever meds. I got the jack out and jacked up the rear-end and slowly moved it out in the cul-de-sac. Big Grin Too bad the police didn't come along.

I've been unfortunate enough to encounter a few motion activated sprinklers in the course of delivering to houses. They can be purchased at most hardware stores. People install them mostly to keep wild turkeys and other animals from approaching their homes. But they tend to leave them on all the time, making it very annoying to try to deliver a package to the front door.

In the above video, it seems there's either a time delay (which is something I haven't seen) or the owner is simply activating it manually. All of the ones I've dealt with have all turned on instantly.

It’s odd how many people like blocking commercial gates.

It’s a constant problem at work. We have a barely used front parking lot, and I don’t really care if people park in it to make a call, etc.

For some blessed reason, people always want to block the gates, and then get an attitude when they get told to clear the gates.

I like this English Farmer's solution and the jury agreed it was reasonable force:

Exactly ! One day I was standing at the gate to a power substation waiting on my crew to get there . One of the tenants of an apartment complex across the street pulled up in his mile long Hot Shot truck and trailer and hopped out . I told him I had a crew on the way and they probably wouldn't be able to make the turn into the gate . He said that he thought it was good and started walking away . I told him that if they can't make the turn with their trailer that my next call will be for a tow truck . If looks could kill ....but he moved his rig . I knew that he had been warned before about blocking the gate so I wasn't going to show any mercy .

I want this for solicitors who can’t read. Manually activated would be great. No crime against watering my lawn is there?

In years past, shoveling out a parking spot in front of your house in Chicagoland established an unofficial ownership of that spot.

After a heavy snowfall one day, a friend in Berwyn performed the ritual shoveling, but while he was retrieving his car, another neighbor parked his land yacht in the cleared spot.

It was cold. Like below-zero cold. My friend was so pissed that he got his garden hose out and sprayed the offender's car, and while he was putting a thick coat of ice on it, the neighbor called the cops, but when they arrived and asked my friend what he was doing, he simply replied "I'm watering my lawn."

Cops smiled and left, with the neighbor still fuming.

I think it took the neighbor several days to get his car clean and unstuck.

I have had people parking in my driveway at the lot. One time I arrive late in the afternoon and there was trash from a McDonald's meal. Since it was not there the day before, I go out there the next day at 12:00.

There is a GTE car with a gentleman asleep in the drivers seat and again trash all over the ground. I knock on the window and wake him up. He sees that my truck is blocking him in and he gets in a rage when I ask him to clean up the trash. I tell him this is a private road and he is trespassing. He gets out of the car and continues to deny the trash is his. Suddenly, he sees that I am armed and his whole attitude changes.

I get some scrap 3-inch pipe and put a cable across the driveway. That doesn't stop them and later one afternoon, I come upon two cars parked in front of the lot and I have my camera with me this time. I take a picture as I drive up to the vehicles and this girl gets out of the car and ask why am I taking their picture. Obviously, these two are messing around so they return to their respective vehicles and haul ass while I take more pictures of the vehicles. Big Grin

I like it. A gentle and harmless admonition and not mean spirited.

The other solution is to simply jack the car up and remove the wheels, out it back in the ground.

Should only have to do that once.
